mmCM ver 04.01.01 Update - multiMAN Cobra Manager Edition - for JB & CFW Too!

There has been an update to the current version of multiMAN, the mmCM (multiMAN Cobra Manager) ver 04.01.01 has now been released as an UPD (update) package for you to install on your JB or CFW PS3 consoles. Several network issues/features have been fixed and updated, allowing for backup and remote play directly to and from the PC/network device. Be sure to read the current changelog for all the current updates to this multifunctional tool for the PS3. And remember, certain features currently require the use of the Cobra-USB dongle in order to function correctly... otherwise you can use this just as you would any other multiMAN update.

* Increased max number of entries for directory listing in file manager to 3584 (from 2560), fixing issues with PSX/PS2/PS3 covers

* Optimized scanning for network content (ISO/CUE+BIN) (Video, Music, Photo and Roms are also supported)

* Added "4.10" option in "System Firmware Version" to spoof reported version to the latest OFW 4.10

* Added support for creating ISO images from PS2 DVD, PS3 BD, Blu-ray and DVD discs *directly* to remote host (remote file system must support 4GB+ file sizes)
--> You can now create backups of your games and movies directly to your PC and play them remotely! (Blu-ray movies/DVD-Video titles may require additional decryption)

* Added support for extracting ICON0.PNG for network PS3 ISO games, which don't have .png/.jpg thumbnail in the remote folder (when game ISO is loaded)

* Added support for extracting coverart (/BDMV/META/DL) for Blu-ray ISO movies, which don't have .png/.jpg thumbnail in their folder (when movie ISO is loaded)

* Added support for installing PKG package files from remote host (clicking over a .pkg file from /net_host folder in File Manager)

* Added "Network" device-browse entries in PHOTO, MUSIC, VIDEO and RETRO columns to enable browse/view/playback functions for remote content

* Added support for loading RETRO games (ROMS) from remote host

* Added support for thumbnails for ROMS, PSX, PS2, PSP, BD and DVD titles

* Added new game titles to internal database (PSX/PS2)

* Fixed an issue which caused mmCM to lock during boot (on boot screen)

* Fixed a potential issue which may have caused creating invalid *split* ISO files from PS3/BD discs (when output exceeds 4GB and is stored on USB)

NOTE 1: Playing video content from remote hosts requires caching to local storage

NOTE 2: For best compatibility with remote content, the following content folders are automatically created in the root folder served by ps3netsrv:

I did read it, twice in fact, to find out why in version 2.09 it found all my Retro games without any messing with the configuration file, but suddenly in 4.01 it can't find any of them even when pointing to the directory.

But obviously you've read it well enough where you can explain this. So where is it? Is it the "* Improved scanning for retro roms/iso and covers " mentioned in 4.00? Because this isn't an improvement and your suggestion didn't work anyway.

Now if you don't mind...

Is anyone else having an issue with retro roms not showing up?

I can do without the attitude. My mistake for trying to help you then pointing out you were being disrespectful calling the documentation "piss poor" when it is in fact very extensive. It works fine for me so there's a number of things you're probably doing wrong including misspelled/miscapitalized folder names, not restarting multiman after editing the options file, not changing options_default.ini to options.ini like it says in the "piss poor" documentation and the list goes on and on

also what roms are you trying to use - you do know you can't put all of them in the PSXISO directory right? and since you're trying to load from the USB did you click on the USB icon? You know there's a limit to the number of roms that multiman will display, so if it hits the max number it will stop reading from other sources/directories. The answer's in there somewhere. have fun figuring it out

@Deprave - install this. just don't install a multiman update until the problem's been fixed

There is a bug in 4.01.01 that doesn't show anything under Retro

I uninstalled and just reinstalled 4.01 without this patch and everything shows up Retro again. I'm sure Deank will release a new patch soon enough to resolve the issue. Thanks for all your much appreciated hard work and effort Deank!

Since I don't play with retro games in multiMAN, I didn't notice this other issue--thanks for reporting it.

But I did notice that this release or the prior one, disabled the ability to fetch RELOAD.SELF from GAMEI folders from external HDDs. Still looking into it to see what changed. I know that once deank is made aware of this, he'll bust another update--he is good with that

I didn't notice it either til I saw a bunch of people asking about it today. I haven't even turned my ps3 on after updating until recently and saw my roms gone from the list. @Depraved - again sorry. I should have checked. I was being lazy and just assumed it was something on your end. Like Jay-Jay said, deank is great about doing updates and corrections so using a slightly older version should be only temporary

Sir i have kmeaw 3.55 installed but i don't have any dongle. I deleted the previous multiman, installed 4.01.00 then 4.01.01 then 4.01.02 and bdemu. Still it is locking on the boot screen.

multiman 2.09.02 works fine and scans games fast. i have 14 gb hard disk free. this is a new problem. multiman 4.0 , 4.01.00 , 4.01.01, 4.01.02 do not work . i accept the terms of agreement, then it is written on screen applying multiman original theme then a smiley occurs and nothing happens after that ( i have waited for hours). in previous multimans when it would scan my files then led indicator near usb slots would glow but in these versions it does not glow. only i am getting this problem or others are also getting?

That's weird. The only thing I could suggest would be to install a base or full pkg (a base for 4.0.1 is linked above) instead of update pkg's. If that doesn't fix it the only thing I would know to do would be report it to deank on the multiman sticky page
