KaKaRoTo update jailbreak for 4.00

A while ago we posted here that Ps3 developer KaKaRoTo had just been able to partially jailbreak Official Firmware 3.73. After Sony had released update 4.00 to prep up the PS3 system for the PS Vita in order to act as an entertainment, KaKaRoTo now informs us via his Twitter account that he has been able to use the same exploit that was used before on firmware 3.73 to jailbreak the console on firmware 4.00. It is to be noted though that this exploit only "partially" jailbreaks the system allowing only for homebrew to be run and those that are stuck on 3.73, to those that are still on 3.55 should stay if they want back ups running. With that being said here is the tweet posted by KaKaRoTo. However, there is no current time frame for his release on JB 4.0

FYI, tested yesterday and the jailbreak still works on 4.0

so it's safe to upgrade (for those on 3.73)

KaKaRoTo isn't bragging on twitter nor refusing to release anything. He has clearly stated that he will release the exploit once it is in a state that is safe for public release. Currently the exploit isn't fully working so it would be pointless to release it now. This is news because it confirms that a jailbreak will be available for firmware 4.00. Just because it is not the news that you want to hear doesn't mean it isn't news that other people want to hear. Granted, the title of the thread is a little misleading.

no thats totaly wrong. hes not enabled Peek and poke functios becasue of legal isses. however there might be a way to get them enabled.
if that is not an option then just downgrade to 3.55 and install CFW if you have a progskeet or e3flasher and wait until more progress is made
to enable 3.72> games.

Forgive me but that is the first and dumbest thing you have ever posted!!! Maybe he doesn't want piracy or Sony on his ass! Why the hell would we need backups seeing that we all "purchase" our games! Isn't that what mods always push on us?

SO please lay off that whole subject...

JAILBREAK = unlocking of device!!! allowing of exploits.
CFW/MFW= the running of unassigned code...

It will allow people on 4.00 fw to use homebrew. Bringing more people into the scene and more members to sites like psx-scene.

Stop whining for Backups , Once he uploads it , there will be many ways to make em work ....
I just want to get to PSN while using backups , however once he releases it , i will update and will keep my games untill someone Else finds a work around ...

Lolz, all it needs is peek and poke functionality and it will be entirely possible to run backup managers.

It's amazing how many people like to comment without having any idea wtf they are talking about. It hasn't been released because it is currently useless. All he has been able to do is install unsigned .pkgs. HOWEVER, HE CANNOT EVEN RUN THOSE HOMEBREW .PKGS

Eh, while i suppose i would like them working, i don't really care much, since i still have a large backlog of older games to play.

Kakaro will release his FW, other devs will tweak it and make it work with backup.
Look at 3.56, already a manager ...

Homebrew, lets face it, is for 0.5% of the scene, no one gives a flying **** about crappy 2D games on a PS3 console. Otherwise you're just retarded or in the wrong era. Go back and play master system.

Sure. When a new torrent comes out for a game that has a "fix" for 3.55, look at several different torrent sources, add all of the seeds/leechers together but checking the trackers used so you don't double count any. Then go look at the stats on how many people downloaded it from newsnet, etc etc.

It won't be an exact number, but look at that estimated number and then look at how many sales the game got. There's your evidence.
