RazorX, known for creating the 3.70 spoof task for PS3MFW and also releasing PS3Ultimate 3.55 CFW, is back with an updated version of PS3Ultimate CFW. This time bringing us a Black and a White edition, as well a 3.70 spoofed and unspoofed versions. You can find all the information for this new release below.

Hey all, just to let you know I've did a quick update of my CFW for you all, and fixed a small bug I found in my old release, so here you go, enjoy..

Instructions aka 1-2-3 UFW (PS3 Ultimate 3.55 CFW):
1. Format USB device FAT32
2. Place PS3UPDAT.PUP in x:/PS3/UPDATE
3. Install via XMB
NOTE: If you are not on OFW 3.55, please download and install that first, the same way you would install NFW. You can find OFW 3.55 here.
NOTE-2: With the versions that come SPOOFED, the only way to revert back to another FW is though Recovery Menu.

I have now tried PS3Ultimate CFW Black 3.55 Unspoofed and it wont worke, the white works just fine?

hi guys, is there anywhere else i can get the "PS3Ultimate CFW Black 3.70 Spoofed" from? this link is not working, only for "PS3Ultimate CFW White 3.70 Spoofed"

Hi all, I decided to jump on the band wagon of dongle-less and upgraded to OFW3.55 from OFW3.41, and then go to CFW3.55. Now I've tried Bitsbuba and this Ultimate CFW3.55 White Non-Spoof and all backups just give the black screen. Now they worked on OFW 3.41 with the dongle so what am i doing wrong?? I also tried erasing and re-ftping them back over.

Mannymania, try downloading the fixpermissions.pkg, and run that. See if it fixes your black screen problem. If it doesn't, I would reinstall OFW 3.55 via recovery, install plain old kmeaw or rebug, install latest multiman, bdemu2.pkg (a must with MultiMan), and try again. I believe the newer MultiMan may have fix permissions built in.

Guys, this got me thinking, wasn't there news about a firmware posted a while back? Based on cobra? Worked on by some name Jai-crab I think? It was supposed to allow you to run ps2 backups and stuff?

Whatever happened to that?

it will be release in October some time, it will be 3.41 with other additions it's been updated on the progress in the news

Hmm if i try to install that cfw with xmb it says : "You've got already the newest version (3.55) " can i install that CFW via recovery menu ?? or will it then not work ??

yes install it via the recovery menu thats what i always do anyway..

So you where using OFW 3.41 with the dongle and now you're on 3.55 cfw? and all backups have black screen? My guess, Make sure multiMAN and bdemu2 is installed If still black screen then it maybe because you where on 3.41 and you need to update the games eboots for 3.55.

i already addressed that in the original post but so its written here i said.. remove or re-install multiman then install the BDEMU2 file above then goto multiman settings and make sure the BD-ROM Emulator is set to hermes then goto a game that worked before and goto the game settings make sure everything is unchecked and then try the game then if it doesnt work try again but by pressing select & x on the game to fix permissions if it still doesnt work maybe the games are updated to far if you did update them or you need the 3.55 eboot fixes for them thats all i can think of at the moment let me know how it goes.. hope you understand all that (Check the post for the bdemu2 file were i said install the BDEMU2 file above)

I suspect it's the eboots that are causing the back screen for him, He said all the games where working for him on 3.41 with dongle. So he just needs to replace the eboots with the originals or a modded eboot if the game requires it.

I think multiMAN runs file permissions checks before it starts the game, he said all his games worked on 3.41 so we may be able to cross that one out.

When you install multiMAN and BDEMU2 it puts Hermes by default at least that's what I noticed when I install it, unless he changed this setting we can cross this one out to.

RazorX, just wanted to add I'm liking your PS3Ultimate CFW Black Edition, any chance of making a Black and White separate theme of it?

I agree with NuBiXx about the EBOOTs I remember everyone complaining, I just wanted to add that no multiMAN doesn't run a check before it starts a game but the options to fix permissions on all games or just the selected game are there

Oh OK my mistake, I could of sworn I read multiMAN runs a check for permissions.

the problem with that is a theme doesnt change every icon

can anyone explain to me why are there "Retro" and "Homebrew" categories. What can i do with them (how to put stuff there)? Thanks!
