**UPDATE #21** Cracked TB Patches by NODRM

Oka, finally I learned how to put the files for Dragons Dogma in the right place. Only problem now is this. I use CFW 3.55 but when I try to launch the game I get this message:
"System software on your system is version 3.70. To start you need to update to version 4.00 or higher. Do u wish to do this now?" I'm not paranoid about bricking ps3 and all that, but what should I do? is it safe?

A little paranoia is healthy for you. If you do what it says in that message you'll lose CFW. Just install a version spoofer. I use Rebug's 4.11 spoofer. You can find it at PS3SceneFiles in the Rebug section

I was wondering if there is a higher spoofer available than the 4.11? Or is this the "best" right now? Games like Borderlands 2 and Resident Evil 6 requires 4.20 and 4.21. Is it impossible for CFW 3.55 users without a TB dongle to play these games?

A spoofer does not allow you to play games that require higher firmwares. It only prevents firmware update prompts. Borderlands 2 and Resident Evil 6 need fixes released for them to work on 3.55.

Also, TB dogles are useless. All the games that work with TB can be played on regular 3.55 CFW now.

There is 4.25 spoofer called SGK 4.25 SEN Enabler you can find it on ps3scenefiles in homebrew section i use it. TB users cant even play them as True Blue seems to have quit upon the release of 3.60 keys. LAst fix they released I believe was Future Soldier. The only way to play them until theres a fix it to wait wait for a sony update of these games and try to play them on DEX.

Oka, thanks alot, and also to you PatrickBatman. So the Rebug Spoofer 4.11 lets us get pass the firmware update prompts. Does it also allow us to play online? I mean acces PSN? I read something about in the rebug thread that it didn't work right now?

spoofers do just what they said, it just prevents update prompts. to get on psn you need f*ckpsn cause it does something that allows you to login on psn.

Just as JoshISPoser said normally you need F*ckpsn, but can only be online for atmost a few weeks before sony stops it.

I believe for PSN access you also need to replace certain cert files in dev_blind on your PS3. There is a pkg somewhere that does this for you, just browse a few pages back in the news and you should find it.

I'm pretty much the same way. I prefer sitting next to someone, then i can learn what they're doing, maybe go easy on each other, etc. It's easier to have drinking games, take breaks, and more. I never like when games are just purely online coop instead of local; that doesn't matter much now because my brother recently moved away and i would mainly game with him.

I wanted to point out that the 1.06 Twisted Metal patch does indeed work. You have to have a 3.70+ spoofer installed so you do not get the "3.70 firmware needed" message. The thing that confuses me is the 1.0 patch (Nodrm or Duplex) worked on 3.55 with no spoofer. So, I installed the "SGK 4.25 SEN" spoofer mentioned a few messages above. To get twisted metal 1.06 to work, install all the official patches (1.01, 2, 4, 5, 6), then overwrite with the param and eboot files (from the 1.06 crack only). No need to run it each time, or to install each version of the crack as you go (as some people mentioned). And again, this DOES fix the sound issue from the original Duplex 1.0 crack.. The car's machine guns and missiles have sound now!

I think retail disc eboots and update eboots work differently because of NPDRM encryption being involved hence the spoofer.

1.0 patches shouldn't ever need a spoofer.

can someone try something out for me that should be pretty simple? don't replace the sfo when you patch a game and let multiman do it.
i'm thinking that might help with the "update needed" or certain fw needed message. i think multiman might update the database when it does it. i don't i've ever had trouble with that, then again, i don't think i've used any of n0drm update patches, but i have used an update patch before on a few games.

It's not b/c of NPDRM. It's just an index file that gets updated with the PARAM info when you install a pkg. If you rebuild the pkg with the corrected PARAM everything's fine. If you just ftp/copy the fixed update files then you need a spoofer for the first boot when the index gets updated

I posted info about the difference between the disc PARAM and the pkg PARAM a while back. It was about the display resolution but it also applies to the system version required
