I read many saying there are 090 BIOSes, and some even say that the US V8 should have an 090 BIOS. But we are only at 050 currently, so unless there is a huge jump in BIOS versions, the next US version should be 060.

Let's set this BIOS thing straight.

On the BIOS chip, there are lines of numbers. One the later models, there are multiple lines with code numbers. But if we refer to the numbering based on the launch day models, the D line is the line that determines the BIOS:

D 110 0x0

Replace X with the BIOS version number.

V3s threw a curve ball in as the BIOS verison line started with a B, but the formatting was still like the D line from the above example.

V4 and later had both the D line and the B line.

The line that throws many off is the B line

B 10070

Let's clear this up!

V6 have an 040 on the top number, the 6 is on the second line.

necrolop is right.

The V6s have a 040 BIOS, but a 10060 subcode. That is the B line that has the 060, not the main D 110 0x0

See, that's where all of the confusion comes in. On the launch day models, there was no B line. It was D 110 0X0 and the only exception was the US V3 that had only the B line, but the format was B 110 030.

So many are using the B line as the BIOS identifier. Then what about V1-V4s?
