View Full Version : !!!PS2 Case mod (make PS2 Logo Light up) question!!!

Ok, I have a v4 broken PS2, I got the empty case (both bottom and top pieces) here, I want to do this Electroluminescent mod to the PS2 logo on the top of the case like shown at http://freedomlives.com/

How do they do this? Use a dremel and get EL Glow Wire and wire it up somehow? I would like to take a very thin blue light cathode and put it in the hdd bay of the PS2 to make that part light up and look nice (I am getting a new v8 Ps2 to do all this). Thanks for any help given.

they probly cut that part out then add some arcrlic

It?s done by setting the PS2 TOP in a jig and templates are used to guide a router to make the cutout. The cutout is then filed smooth. Then the filed plastic is painted black. Behind the cover a flat plastic strip is melted to the case top to support and hold firm the cutout. Then an electroluminescent flat strip is attached to the clear plastic covering the cutout. An inverter is used to power the strip. Options are OFF - FLASHING - Constant ON. I do also sell kits for the do it you selfer You just need a dremel tool and a steady hand! Very reliable. I had him install my Apple. He is awesome. Guarantess all his work and tests your system and does any necassry laser tweaks if necessary before sending it back to you.

He keeps you in the loop. I have had LOD do a few installs for me, and he is one of the best. Not only in PS2 repair and installs, but also in customer service. You are informed every step of the way. He called me a couple of times BEFORE doing anything. And he made sure that I was informed. That to me is invaulable as a customer.
