View Full Version : Gameshark and Magic 3.1

I recently had a Magic 3.1 installed on my ps2...it works perfectly:) There's just one problem though, I can't play backup versions of either ps2 dvdr's or cdr's or rips if I try to use codes with the gameshark. Otherwise the games boot. I have tried using GameShark 2 v1.3, v1.9, and v2.2 and an older version of CodeBreaker. But I still can't get it to boot any ps2 backup with codes. Does anyone have any suggestions?

oh btw I forgot to say but both gamesharks version v1.3 and v1.9 where copies, but the v2.2 was original.

Strange. I have a Magic3.1 and I use Gameshark with codes, and it loaded 10/10. There is a cracked version of Gameshark though. You might wanna try that. It's v1.9

I use codebreaker with MAgic 3.1, a bit tricky to boot, but it works.

codebreaker and Gameshark both work with mines. it depends on what version ps2 you have, V7 dont work with codes.

damn...I have a V7. I never heard anything about it not working with codes before...damn. Is there anything that will work???

i have a original 3.3 codebreaker and a copy of 4.0 and they both boot up on my v7 mod and the mod is a magic 3.1

i got the VErsion 4 Codebreaker, and all The GS2 Versions except V3, they all boot up, i just cant play syntax backups of psx games

I just got my Magic 3.1 back and having a bit of a problem with this as well...I'm using codebreaker (original), and I can only get my games to boot up 1 out of 2 times. Especially DVD-R's...but if does work after a couple tries.

I have a magic 3.1 modded in my v4 PS2. I have copies of both the codebreaker v4 and the gameshark v3. Both copies boots my DVD-R's but after one or two trys. If you want you can pm me and I will tell you where I got them both. But apart from that they work fine.

i found some codes wont load with codes, like ufc: tHROWDOWN

Well, I've send him the cracked GS. He still has no luck. So i have no clue... I even ask him to use Without Codes, and it still wouldn't load.

Maybe the chip you got isnt REALLY a 3.1 .. there were issues with Gameshark and Magic2 / 3.0 . Did you try the "Sleep" mode to verify your chip is a real 3.1 because other than that I am not sure of another way to verify the chip .
Just a thought to help solve your problem.
