DMS3 Explorer v1.0 has been released. They will be releasing an install image for Naplink in the next few days.

They are also announcing that they will be sponsoring Sjeep, the creator of PGEN and PSMS. Sjeep has been a great help to the PS2 homebrew community with his contributions to ps2lib and modules. He also produces two nice emulators for Genesis/Megadrive and Master System. They also have a new release of PGEN and SMS with Dev.olution Mode support, in the next few days.

never mind I found this on the DMS3 site:

DMS Explorer Instructions

Burn the DMS Explorer 1.0 installation image to a CDR. Boot the disc as you would any PS2 CDR. DMS3 Explorer will start up and automatically install itself on the memory card. When complete, you will see a menu with one entry, "Browser". At that point you may execute DMS3 Explorer from Dev.olution Mode.

Basic Usage:
Upon startup, DMS3 Explorer will load the list of installed applications and display them on the screen for you to choose from. Use the Up/Down arrows to highlight the application you want to run and X to select it.
Pressing Select when a valid installation disc is inserted into the PS2 drive will invoke the automatic installer which will install an application according to the supplied install script.

what im saying is you'll probably still need to waste a cd, so whats the difference.

Since you would not need to boot applications everytime from cd you can use a cdrw instead to install the app. Then just boot the app from mem card and use the cdrw for something else.

the devolution mode is pretty much for hardcore ps2 sceners. its not for the faint of heart.

not all PS2s support CD-RWs it would be cool if they did DMS3 PRo/LITE Cause all i need is flash upgrade.

OK so I have the DMS explorer running on my PS2....now what? How on earth do you get DivX players and other APPS to run from the browser off the mem card?

WWW.DMS3.COM has been updated

Hm, I've installed it, I can now enter the Explorer by pressing the triangle button. But upon entering the "Browser", the PS2 is plainly rebooted. Shouldn't the browser at least display "no files" or something? Maybe there was not enough space on my memory card?

does someone how to do this?

ikari_01

Won't work. The DiVX player will have to initialize differently (see bottom of the referred page). The presented installation script will only work with apps which don't load additional drivers (ps2reality mediaplayer does load cdvd.irx, iirc)

I think it would be neat to upload programs to the memory card over USB/Firewire/Network Adapter similar to Naplink.

ok i'm sure this is probably off topic but with this exploer to alow progras to run off a memcard how about some one developing a program to let games run of a HDD installed in the PS2. i know there's an issue of lay out and TOC and all that but is there a way to have the program emulate as a CD drive only it's reading the Data off the HDD sorta like Virtual CD for the PC. i for one would love this due to the fact i have a old V4 with a laser that's starting to go out and can't afford a new PS2 not to mention it would save wear on all my masters.

you can't. the ps2reality team has blocked the DMS3 because they didn't pay them enough money for it. :(

I personally don't see what all the fuss is about concerning the file. It's 100% legal and there was no need to release this in an underground fashion. Now that the legality of the file is confirmed I have attched it to my post. I apologize to any moderators but i see nothing wrong with it. If you disagree then please feel free to remove it from the thread.

Credits owed to subten for the original attachment.

edit. use madturnip's instead lol

The Mediaplayer can be grabbed from either...

edit by mod:
Until further notice guys, please don't directly link to the cracked player download or upload it to the board. Thanks :)

Get a life, you think everyone gives a fuck about your stupid boycott. Your app got cracked because you and your "l337" team were greedy. All i see on your website is petty bullshit and children bickering. I dont see what the whole point is even considering the DMS team never released their version because of your bullshit yet there is still all this no DMS shit on your site. You and your members also blame ps2newz for all of this, I dont see why you would be so lame as pull bullshit like this. You have been pwned, get over it lamers! :ban: :ban: :ban:

that was not called for, Don't make fun of those that do not know better it makes you look bad.
The previous release is infact illegal. :(

Can anyone with a DMS3 test this out for me please. This should hopefully solve all of the legal issues with the the mediaplayer if it does indeed work. I have even placed the original ps2reality readme documents in there and also the original r18 nfo so that no single side can complain.

The image burnt fine.
DMS3 recognised the install disc. Pressing 'select in dev mode to run the install script The install ran and complete successfully.

Selecting mediaplayer on the dev screen- dms3 said 'loading', then the screen went and stays black. No logos no menus.

in the normal browser you see the resultant extra files on the memcard. well more than I started with b4 installation.

BTW How do you properley remove apps from DMS Explorer? Just deleting them from the ps2 browser is totally hit and miss, since all of DMS Explorer and it's application icons (ie mediaplayer etc), are blue boxes ATM, and have no info, other than creation dates, and a title of 'Corruped Data'

tis all.
