Why to buy DMS3?
Give a good motive to me to buy a DMS3.
I forgot...... now the code DivX is worth little.
A new software is available that allows the integral copy of a film on DVD-r. Without any compression!!! Equal to the original one
The name? DVD X copy........ go to see it and try
if you buy a DMS3 you are

Why buying a DMS3?
Can you give me a good reason to buy the new DMS3?
I forgot, the built-in Divx player is kinda useless
A new software is available that allow you to backup a DVD-9 movie to 1 DVD-R, without ripping and re-encoding the content!!! Exactly the same qualities as the original DVD
That software is called DVDXCopy... you should try it
If you buy a DMS3, you are nuts
*
Oh, and if you think DVDXcopy will make a 1:1 backup of your DVD-9 movie, you are wrong. Do you really believe in spell and magic? Because fitting about 8 gigs on a 4.7 gigs disc without ripping anything sound like magic to me.

Ahhh....finally makes sense to me. LOL. Seriously. I didn't want to post anything serious until now because of what he was intending to say.
1) Divx is not so useless, because I'm sure that a lot of people would love to watch their Divx files from a TV, instead of having a stiff neck from sitting in front of your computer.
2) Believe it or not, people still might be using TVs without A/V inputs on the back and have to plug their PS2s into a VCR first to watch DVDs. However, this creates a problem because Macrovision will blur the picture. DMS3 rectifies that.
3) Sure re-encoding a DVD disc will work, but a good majority of people cannot afford a DVD-R Drive yet. So hence, defeats his argument. Fat_Mike is right in that DVD-9 cannot be made into a 1:1 copy, but in certain instances, split into 2 DVD-Rs.
OH well...just my 2 cents, but thankfully, I don't fall into any of the categories I mentioned.:D

Lol, so you've seen some blank DVD-9 somewhere?:) I bet you are talking about those 2 sided DVD-R. If yes, then they aren't DVD-9 but just 2 DVD-5 on one disc. Anyway, there won't be DVD9-R for quite some time and even if they would come out tomorow, you wouldn't be able to use your DVD burner to burn them as it use a special process to achieve two layers on one side of the disc. Try to type DVD-9 in the search section of the board and you'll see what I'm talking about.

You probably found some dual sided media, actually it's dvd 10. It's just two discs in one. I've seen those around, but true dvd9 hasn't come to the home market yet. Even if you did find true burnable dvd9 media, none of the burners available at this time support it, and probably would need a different laser to be able to use it.

You are all nice, your reaction is correct I didn't have to say that you are crazy.
Excuse me for the bad language, I undertake to learn better English.
I don't answer to whom has offended me.................
1°: DVD X copy doesn't compress a dvd, if the dvd is great of 4.7GB it burn on 2 dvd-r
2°: A dvd-r drive costs only ? 300,00. It doesn't cost a lot.
3°: Because I don't like DMS3:
- it contains software of others as the Mediaplayer of Ps2reality
- For this, they could also have copied the code of the Messiah and the Magic to make their chip.
- who guarantees the next updatings?
- it is too expensive
4°: I think that Messiah 2 and Magic 3.1 are the best in absolute. Remember you that Messiah has been the first chip No SWAP.
All the other are clones !!!!
I hope you agree with me...........

The PS2 Reallity mediaplayer team is well aware of the chip and they will even make a special version of the mediaplyer for the chip, so it's not like the DMS3 team are ripping of the code. And, I'm sorry, but for me, DVD burner are really expensive for what they are. And so what if Messiah was the first No swap chip? I don't see where it is an argument agains't DMS3... It would be like saying Playstation 2 suck because the Atari was there first...

But.... do you understand what I say or no?
I say that I don't find any novelty in DMS3, for now.....
If I buy a Messiah 2 and burn a Mediaplayer on cd-rom I have the same characteristics of a DMS3.
Besides I want the comparison with the Messiah 2, we will see if it works well as it...
When the Team DMS3 will really introduce an innovative chip, with functions and unique characteristics I will speak well also of the chip.
I don't like to read on their site that they have invented something exceptional......
BOYS.... until now I don't see anything special in DMS3.
Now, Is my reasoning intelligent or no? Have ou understand me ?
:)
excuse me for my English.

Well....your claims will be put to a test, check the front page for the news. I for one am glad if it is actual code develpment that has taken place, versus the ripping of Messiah code and creating another to add to the clone market.
Just remember what they did to poor Dolly.:wow:

No apologies necessary. I don't expect everyone in the world to speak and write english fluently.
You make a valid point. You do not see anything 'special' (technology-wise) about the DMS3 that warrant any praises from you. I agree DMS3 is not breaking new ground in modchip technology. They are treading the same path as neo, magic, and messiah. However, that does not make the it bad either. If they tread the same path better, faster, and more efficently, then it will be a better chip than neo, magic, and messiah.
And yes, the new features are not spectacular or eye-popping but they got to do something to justify that price, right?;)

I did (laugh), and I have the collectors edition DVD box set.
I love that movie.
Anyway, the DMS looks like a worthy investment just based on what it claims to be. Then again, whitepaper's can be useless.

I think it has something to do with our (Americans) 1st ammendment rights. "Freedom Of Speech" And then again it is human nature to speculate (and be negative in general) and gossip about things we know very little about. (Thats why soap operas are so popular) Drama is exciting. People thrive on it, and the "unknown" is fuel for the fire. I guess as a whole, there is no "Perfect" there is always something better in one aspect or another.
And - some people you just cant please. You can take the "Best modchip" on the market, put it into a brand new console and GIVE it to someone for absolutely FREE and they will still find something to bitch about. Its just human nature. The chip will obviously speak for itself, but there will always be naysayers.
Personally, I dont care. If people want to buy a Messiah, let em. If they prefer a Magic3, let em. If they want a Flip Top lid with a DMS3, Apple, Magic3, and Neo Key in conjunction with a no solder mod with or without a switch on a painted case that they did a walmart swap with in hongkong. Let em.
Thats my philosiophy. (Just keep an objective mind)

Sweet Jesus.....all this bashing is people just crying for attention. The proof will be in the pudding when it's reviewed. Messiah 2 has proved its worth after a review and so has Magic 3 (after a few revisions of course).
If the DMS3 can add something to it that other haven't well....just wait and see. If real world tests determine that it sucks...well everyone will know it then.
Everyone just wait. I'm more than happy to wait and hear some honest opinions for review.

The only thing i'm not too crazy about is the boot procedure. To me the ultimate mod will be COMPLETELY without user intervention and have all the functions. However, I do understand that it's necessary to use the buttons on the controller to put the unit into different modes.
Does anyone have official boot instructions yet?

It should be spelt philosophy <- there's something to bitch about! ;)
i dont think too bad about the dms3, but i have all the stuff necessary to do what the dms3 can do, using swapping, and i don't want the money used to get these things, to go to waste, i'll just use what i have, till the end.

DMS3 will not be a success here, I have seen a lot people prefer to buy something cheap than something "pro" and especially expensive. If in fact is really that good, since we don't see any review here, I cannot tell is a "pro" stuff yet, but at last is a "pro price".
The true winner is Messiah2, and the price is gonna to be even better, and I can offer macrovision off, dvd region free, divx player, mp3 player, etc, as bonus without any problem.
In reality, people just want to play games, and not see divx, or hearing mp3 files, etc.
But hey, why should I waste my expensive laser cannon with files like that?

I said 'Best' modchip.
My ultimate modchip would read my mind and do my bidding. Go to work for me while I say in bed. Clean my house. Do the laundry. Bitch-slap all my enemies and grant me wishes. Remind newbies to use the search button before posting a question. Strike down anyone that asks stupid questions, and immedately flame anyone who contradicts me, especially if I am wrong. And oh yeah, cost less than $10.;)
