Dave Mirra Sues Acclaim for $21 Million

According to Newsday.com,

BMX star Dave Mirra has filed a lawsuit against Acclaim that reportedly accuses the publisher of breach of contract, unfair competition, injury to reputation, false advertising, and invasion of privacy. Mirra initially agreed to appear in an adult-humored BMX game, but he retracted his support when he found out that the game's concept had been changed from what was initially decided upon. Though he was officially disassociated from the product before it was released, Mirra is still seeking $21 million in damages. Acclaim told Newsday.com that it will fight the lawsuit.

Arrrrrrrrr, as if that fella don't have enough money anyways right? A video game company has all the rights in the world to say "From the makers of...." on any other game they produce because legally they own the rights to that game and its title, so they do.

dave mirras movements and name are used on this game...on my gamecube copy it says so on the back, they name several bmx stars that scans were taken from, acclaim is completely retard if they think they can get away with not paying him.

Arrrrrrrr, are ye daft boy? Those BMX stars DID get paid already, plus they get royalties for every game sold. Dave Mira wants money for BMX XXX, a game neither he nor his likeness appears in. He want's money just cuz Acclaim put "from the makers of Dave Mira". Well, if that case passed, then the guys who did the original art for Doom could sue ID Soft for any game that said "From the makers of Doom" It be rediculous so it does!

ehh, maybe i didnt state it clearly...on my copy of BMX XXX, it says what i said it says, its on the back of the gamecube instruction manual

the clearly state his name and the other real riders names, and that they use scans of his movements...unless i read it incorrectly.
