I was placing an order with EBuyer last week when I stumbled across an interesting USB cable for only £6.56. I decided it was cheap enough to take a risk on so I went ahead and ordered it.
I have now checked out the cable and can confirm that it is a PL-23XX cable. It works perfectly. It comes in generic packaging with a driver CD, EBuyer sell it as their own product. Their QuickFind Code for it is 39504.
The postage for the UK is as little as £1.87.

Cool...and a nice price. Doesn't X-Port need a dongle to work like most the Datel products for PS2.

Nope, the Sharkport uses just a cable and 2 cds. One cd for the computer software and one to boot up the ps2.

So you can use this cable and download the xport v2 software and burn it to cd for ps2/ install to pc and it should work just like a normal xport? (sorry if this is a bit of a silly ques to ask) Can you easily download the appropriate software? Thanx

I'm confused on all this... what exactly is this cable used for?

What kind of transferring would you need to do between your PS2 and PC? And is that all this cable does, is transfer data (in the sense of files, etc... if there's a more logical use, then please inform me!!!)

you need to install the correct driver on your pc for whichever app you plan to use, ie the driver to use for naplink is different than the driver used for sharkport, neither of which are the default driver windows installs.
