I like to give some advice to PS3 Linux users.

Buying an external hard drive is a good idea. I bought a Western Digital 500 GB external USB hard drive about 2 weeks ago.

Being that Sony only allows up to partition that HDD for 10 GB either to PS3 or Linux, you can run out of space quickly. I partitioned 10 GB for Yellow Dog Linux.

Since many people will want to run Linux for emulators, install the emulators on the HDD and put the roms/disc images on the external HDD.

For example, ScummVM allows you to play old video games. Some of these games are over 200 MB+, so having the games on the external HDD will save disk space on your main HDD.
