Hi guys I am new to these forums and have yet to post in the thread. I am from Several Wii forums and I know how annoying it is to have a Newb as questions with out searching.

I have had a few inquiries about PS2 mod chips and since I know how to solder and install Wii mod chips I figured I would expand a little bit.

Just wondering if there is anyone who has extra mod chips that they would sell me. I am ordering a few modbo 4.0 but they are already spoken for (surprised how many people want to get their PS2 modded).

If anyone has some extra PS2 mod chips laying around that they probably won't use I would love to buy them. Please PM me if you do.

I hope you have some hot air rework tools or a high grade soldering station.

Modding a PS2 is WAY more difficult than a Wii, some of the points are the size of a needle tip.

Not really. There is more wires but the points are just as small. I have a hakko solder station with a needle tip but I prefer a slightly larger tip (well relatively larger than the needle tip).

I opened up my old PS2 and although it will take more time it won't be any more difficult.

Anyone have any modbo's or cheap ps2 mod chips. I live in Canada if that helps.

A bit off-topic, but just because you're new and you maybe don´t know it.

"Free McBoot"/FMCB+ESR is a free SoftMod-Solution.
If you also have friends who don´t wanna spend the money for a modchip, you can install it for them, or even use it yourself.

No I am new to the forums but not soldering. I prefer doing the hard mod and not the soft mod.

Are there any great websites in Canada that provide cheap PS2 mod chips. And I don't see $20 as cheap for a PS2 mod chip.

No I am new to the forums but not soldering.

I didn´t meant @soldering, but thought you meant in the PS2-Scene.

That´s your choice, which is o.k.

Actually I have no idea, since I bought my original Matrix Infinity at a flea market back in 2005 and got my Crystal Chip 2.0 Pro SLE off spedmetal a few months before he disappeared from all the modchip raids that happened in the States. If I was to look now, I would be in the same boat having to research and ask until I found a good reliable modchip retailer.

If you think $20 is too expensive, you're not getting your hands on any of the higher end chips, you'll have to settle for some of the cheaper mods. Even the Crystal Chip 2.0 Pro CANNOT be found for under $35, I just sold mine to someone here.

With that said, I have dealt with these guys for several things and their prices are always good and they ship quickly.
