ok, i researched ps2 modding and this seemed to be the best option.

PROBLEM
I've read the tut put the files on the mem stick it came with but i cant get/see the media player when i start ar. I dont know why it says its evo right on the manual. But their is nothing about the media thing. I've never seen the media option. NEVER.
so how can activate it or "turn it on"?

i have a ps2 slim SCPH-75001

The newer versions don't contain the media player, messenger or pgen.

You best bet would be disc swapping it's a lot easier on the slim.
I have VER = 3.60 (European) which also had the features removed the version number is in the system.cnf.

You have to block the sensors as you normally would use the highest toc game you've got preferably a dual layer one like gt4 when swapping any type of dvd cd's have to used to swap cd's though.

burn that file on a cd-r like normal. then do the swap trick like normal. put my flash drive in and install the mc expliot.

RIGHT?

(wats toc?)

edit: do i need a dummy file?

By the way I wasn't talking about the ps1 disc swap just in case you thought so.

From dahun's reply, i think he interpreted it that way. Then again, i maybe wrong... I just commented in case he was in wrong direction ......

Installed via save file method? Anyone know what that means? Could someone point me in the right direction.

I'm in the same boat. AR Max EVo without Media Player (3.70). If there is a way to do this via a fake game save file, please help me out.

Yeah I would be curious to know how he did it via save file on a V14 PS2 as he stated he had in first post.
As that only works on a FAT, far as I know.

Yeah I would be curious to know how he did it via save file on a V14 PS2 as he stated he had in first post.
In the first post he had not yet succeeded. It was only in post#11 that he finally reported success. So you can't assume that he did everything as described in post#1.

As that only works on a FAT, far as I know.
That is true, but in post#3 he mentioned the possibility of doing the installation on the fat PS2 of a friend, and since he eventually succeeded with this method, that must be how he did it.
