FMCB 1.5 doesn't work with SCPH-10000, it stops at LOADING... screen.
Yes, I've read the readme(usage.txt), XSIO2MAN, XMCMAN, XMCSERV, XPADMAN are in the same folder.

zoneloader.elf freezes on autoboot.
This is probably not a problem/bug concerning mcboot, rather I think that it just doesnt give zoneloader enough time to read the original disc.
Might be something to look into. Just noting that not all .elf's will run properly on autoboot.

For some reason my brand new console (77004 EUR PAL) is running in JAP mode.
For example when I boot with FMCB 1.5 and start the original game (Jak 3) that came bundled with it I see the initial text in Japanese and there is no audio. Also the language selection screen is skipped but afterwards the cut scenes are with English subtitles. The game is a Multi 3 version.
I also tried to dump my BIOS using the v2 dump utility from PCSX2 site and the USB DUMP elf from the NGEMU forum tutorials and although both of them ware able to dump the BIOS the PCSX2 is recognizing the one from the NGEMU forums as JAP 2.20 BIOS and the p2b file from the PCSX2 dumper is not even recognized.
P.S. I used 2 different USB drives and the results are the same :(

try startin the ps2 with a disc in the drive then try to install FMCB 1.5
But there is no other way to install FMCB in a 10k model without a disc in the drive, the Independence exploit require you to do that.

Thanks LiquidXed, I wish I would have found this awhile ago.
I have only been able to install any of the fmcb releases by using my V7 PS2 for myself and for others.
I have a SCPH-75001 V14 PS2 and finally today I installed the latest 1.7 fmcb using it by having an original PS2 disk in the tray.
If I don't have a disk in it will freeze upon the loading screen..

fmcb1.6 doesn't works with my ps2 moded with magic3 chip...I tried several times but the problems is the same:if I don't turn off my chip fmcb doesn't works
Try to run your Chip in PS1-Mode.
Means,... Try to start your PS2, like you start your PSX-Backups.

the problem isn't the installation because i can easily install the program, evan with the chip turned on. the problem is to run it because if i don't turn off the chip fmcb doesn't run
I already understand that.
The installed FMCB doesn't run, if you do not disable the chip,... Got it right?
So,... Did you tested to run your PS2 with plugged-in FMCB-MC in PS1-Mode?
I'm not sure.
Thought it was holding reset for a few (3) seconds (I don't know, what to do with Magic3, to start PS1-Mode and didn't do a google-research yet,...).
Did you tried that?
Does it still not run?

What do you mean by doesn't work ?
Did you have a BSOD ? endless FMCB loop ?

Negative.
That is your mod chip enabled and it is doing it's job. playing backups. I'm willing to bet that if you disable your chip, you won't be able to play those same backups while FMCB 1.7 is running.

of course, but I don't have a chip with devolution mode, and using fmcb 1.7 my ps2 look like a modded ps2 with devolution mode..so I can play my favourites elf application and all my backups with a button..

fmcb has nothing to do with that. nor does a chips without dev.olution funtions have any bearing on FMCB. what I'm saying is that if the chip is enabled, it will do it's job and run backup discs. which has nothing to do with memory card booting.
Yeah! Chip-Compatibility raises.
That is really important to me, even if FMCB is intended to work without a chip and give No-Mods the possibility, to load Homebrew.
The features are just to good, to have it for NoMod-Consoles only.
Edit: @bootleg: I think, he just mentioned that FMCB makes his PS2 "look-like" having a Modchip with DEV.-Feature. ;)
But your right about the backup-thingy.
@silvered.dragon: I just hope, it makes user-handing (also) easier for you.

Having it working with 1.7 and not 1.6 with his modchip enabled just means that his magic3 chip uses exactly the same code as CC to patch OSDSYS.
Jepp,... I think, compatibility&stability are the most important things, so I just love to see those fixes.

Maybe other chips will work too now, glad to see its useful.:)

right!
How more I think about it,... the old chips getting better and better.
(But I hoped so... Adding features for all.)
DMS needs this button-hold (before FMCB-Logo, or while FMCB-Logo with
PAD-Delay enabled) for PSX-Mode.
A bit annoying, but what is a button-press-switch, compared to not having FMCB running also my PSX-Games in Fastboot + have all other things,... Just my opinion.
