Launching from HDD was possible yet, and if not if jimmikaelkael has any plans to add the possiblity for chubby ps2 users, it could even be optional so not to take up extra MC space if not wanted/needed. just an idea if not already available. thanks for any response :)

It'll come later I think, but not until some other thing s are in.
We must/want to keep it as small as possible.
May have external files and modules.

HDD support will certainly enlarge the loader too much to fit the 75 kb file. This is evolving in a way I don't like it, attention is going into the launcher, it's ok, but we will end up with something terribily similar to ulaunchelf.
Yes, I also think MASS as extension is good enough.
@glidor: You remember the first installer, that provides not compressed loader.
USB-Support is only possible, through loader&module-compression.

ok then i was thinking it could be optional so that it was up to the user, also with the size of uLE i was thinking making FMCB able to launch from HDD could help save a little bit of space over all, ffgriever once posted he was able to make a title.db for the original exploit that was ~90KB, quite a bit smaller than uLE ~369KB, but if it doesn't seem feasible then i guess the next best thing would be if someone created a small launcher that's only job would be to launch an ELF from a configurable HDD location, just throwing out some ideas that could help save some MC space. I'm not saying anyone should have to make this app and i know i don't have the skills to make it myself. and please do not think i'm not grateful for everything everybody in the ps2 scene has done, i'm just trying to contribute some ideas to make it even better. :) Well thats enough rambling, thanks again to everyone in the scene and please don't quite now! btw external files and modules would be fine as long as the whole was smaller than current+uLE and was optional so users had choice.
Sincerely,
Gildor

why not just plug a usb drive for instead. I put all elf and unneeded game saves in mass except FMCB. flash drive has become so cheap throughout the world. 1 GB usb drive only costs 10$ in Australia:) In some countries it should be even cheaper than that.
Yes, that was the point of viewing.
Here I could get a 2GB-Stick for 8.

Because usb is incredbly slow. Try running a large elf (codebreaker for ex.) from usb - now run it from HDD and see how fast it starts in comparison.
I don't think HDD support is urgent though, and it should be optional for those of us who want it - not taking up space for those who don't want nor need it.

thank you, that was the original idea, if it wasn't already implemented, i wasn' saying it should be automatically included but optional and it is not something to make a priority just sending the idea out there so hopefully it would be added eventually, heck i think at least some of us might even be happy with a smallish elf loader that's only purpose would be to launch an elf from a predetermined location then it would not have to be embedded into FMCB but would still help with saving MC space and would still be faster than usb, just my $0.02 worth :)
