View Full Version : Booting a backup Utility Disk (15000/10000)

Some of us still have Utility Disks that work. You need that if ever you've screwed up your memory card and need to re-install the DVD drivers that live on the memory card.
So, make that backup copy now with CloneCD (or Nero or CDRWin) and save it for when you are in the sh*t.
Chip your PS2 with an Origachip (then you can boot the Utility Disk Backup behind DVD Region X or AR2) or with the upcoming Messiah-J when, subject to test, you can direct boot the backup.
But make that copy while you can!

The people who own the Utility disc like me or other peoples who have the Jap PS2 need it. The disc is there incase anything happen to our memeory card or we accidently erase the DVD file in the memory card which allow us to watch DVD. For you guys who have the PAL or US system, your DVD software is already program inside your system. So if we erase the DVD software in our memory card and the disc is mess up then we are screw.

If you buy JAP DVD Region X and hve the memory card in (where the drivers should be) all should work woth Origa or Nova.

I can upload the utility disk (by cue and bin), but I do not know how to upload the DVD driver from the memory card since I do not have the device to transfer memory save to PC.

This is kind of wierd, I have Winrar the bin and cue of the Utility Disc and it came out to around 100mb but when I unrar it is around 750mb do you think this is corrupted? I have check it out with the test button and no error came up.
By the way fooniman can you please PM me a screenname on AOL IM or MSN IM since I do not have a FTP web site.

The image it self is around 700+mb but when I winrar it, it came to around 100mb. By the way I don't have no site to upload it too.. The only way I can transfer this is by AOL AIM or MSM IM since I do not know how to set up a FTP server, but I'm going to try to set it up for a brief moment since my ISP does not like running server.

Ahhh, maybe thats the problem
The Image I have is about 32 MB when de-compressed. That's probably the source of my error, unless the actual disc contains a dummy file which has been deleted on this backup version.
I would like to get hold of a copy for the DVD drivers though
