Can you save actual PS3 games to the HDD?, A friend told me this is so. Although I very much doubt Sony would allow this.

You can rip them to your HDD yes, we have the ISO's of several PS3 games, we do not have a loader to load them yet though.

Ridge Racer 7 allows you to install the game onto the HDD but it still needs the disc to play which makes me wonder on really how much was installed.

If it does install the whole game all someone needs to figure out is what it recognizes on the disk and find some way to fake it

Ridge Racer 7 installs about 4GB to the hard disk to increase loading times, not the whole game.

First man you need to type clearly, I really can't make much sense of what you're saying but I'll try.
If you want to know how to install the Ridge Racer 7 data onto the PS3's HDD then go to "Options" and on the bottom of the list should be "install" or something similar (cant remember lol).
Remember you still need the disc to play.
