Have a few Qs if anyone can answer a few:

Any info if or where the PS3 is sold for $599?

Can PS2 controlers work with ps3 games?
I ask this cus i have some steering wheels and 2 players arcade joysticks.

I see Yellow Dog Linux can be downloaded and burned but how can you install it on the PS3 HDD if its on burned DVD-R?

This is a lil odd:
Can you upgrade the PS3's 256 RAM?
I dont know how it will work to have 256 for the processor and 256 for the video (= 512). Doesnt seem 512 RAM when its split up like that. Dunno really.

I have a normal TV:
Does PS3 have S-Video and/or Composite Cables outputs?

Do high resolution PS3 games play at normal PS2 resolution on a regular TV?

If i attach a rod to it can you vacume the rug with the PS3?

PS2 controllers cannot work with the PS3, atleast not now anyway.
Search google about how to install Linux on the PS3.

You cannot upgrade the ram in the PS3, it is not a PC.
The CPU has its own 256MB RAM pool for the system, code ect. The RSX has its own 256MB RAM pool that is used for textures, models and anything else to do with graphics.
it's 512MB RAM in total that the system can use, no doubt there are probably ways to get around the seperation to allow the system CPU more ram but really the RAM that the PS3 uses is much faster than your normal PC use DDR2, its XDR from memory.

You can hook up the PS3 to a normal TV, it uses the same AV cables that the PS2 uses so yes it goes up to component.
All PS3 games are high resolution games and they do scale down to 480i/480p for normal TV's.

"If i attach a rod to it can you vacume the rug with the PS3?"
You're funny, in all seriousness no.

If you want a ps3 for $599 witch comes to $640 tax and all you need to go to your walmart in the am around 6am if it's not a 24hour walmart they open at 6am just keep checking. and ps3 can use the same S-Video that the ps2 used and no the ram can not be upgraded.

PS2 controllers WILL work with PS3 games. You need to buy a PS2 to PC (USB) adaptor, and it'll work with PS3.

Thank you for clearing that up, now I can play Rez on my PS3 with the rumble as we all know it needs it. ;)

afaik, rumble is not supported for PS2 games on PS3, even if the controller supports it.

PS2 Controllers supposedly don't work with PS2 games, though. Only PS3 games.
