NTSC vs. PAL

If I had a European Soccer PS2 game, labeled PAL, would I be able to play it in a PS3 purchased in the US? My PS3 is connected with HDMI to an HDTV. What would I have to do to make it work?

it won't work, ps2 games (even played on ps3 which is region free) will not work on systems from different region, sorry. You gotta wait modchip or something like swap magic for ps3.
