PSV Exporter

I've knocked up a utility to extract the contents of the PSV files created when you play a Playstation 2 game on a Playstation 3, you can grab it over at PS2 Save Tools (http://www.ps2savetools.com) (screenshot attached).


I've also released details of the file structure in hopes the community can come together, fully map the file and eventually figure out the digital signature signing process and key so we can rebuild and resign the file (ala Xbox 1 saves).

So eventually we should be able to take our PS2 savegames from out PC and convter them to PS3 format and transfer them without a PS/PS2 Memory Converter?

As soon as the digital signature method/key is discovered I will update the program to allow the rebuilding of PSV files.

If it is a digital signature as opposed to just a hash then the key is likely to be stored in the PS3 OS or in a dedicated security chip.

PSV Exporter (screenshot attached) now supports the extraction of PS1 saves, as usual you can find it over at PS2 Save Tools (http://www.ps2savetools.com) :)

Has any advancement regarding the PSV encryption been achieved?
I desperately need a RAW to PSV converter :p

The plan is to export saves from ps2 to pc using exectftps, then build PSV from them and finally transfer them to PS3 via Memory Stick.

Is there another free solution available at this point?

The files aren't encrypted, they are digitally signed. Until we know the method/key used we cannot resign them.
