Somehow it only shows 186GB max capacity? Does the PS3 have problems recognizing 200GB or it uses 14GB for partition? Even then, it uses 20GB for "stuff"?

186 is the correct size for a 200GB HD, just as Toma pointed out :) very nice.

When that dude on ebay upgraded the harddrive, how did he transfer the OS and what was on the 20GB hard drive over?

You just need to remove the old harddrive (which, from what I saw last night on Attack of the Show, is extremely simple to do) and insert the new one. Sony actually allows you to do this.

Yea upgrading the drive is very easy. If you go to sony's site and go through their faq, they do give the thumbs up for upgrading your hard drive.
