Hi All,

When I am playing DVD movies on my Playstation2, most of the DVD's output is showing in Black & White. Some of them play in Colour. Please help me if anybody has come across this and fixed it. Thanks a lot in advance...

The one's showing in black & white are DVDs from a different region than your own. You can fix it with either; using a cheat device that has a 'DVD Region Free' function, or by buying a fully wired RGB scart lead for PS2

I thought the Black & White display was because of PAL/NTSC format incompatibility between the disc and your TV system rather than the region.

PAL & NTSC are regions m8.
PAL = Europe/Australia, using TVs at 50Hz
NTSC = USA/Canada/JAP, using TVs at 60Hz

The disc has nothing to do with it. Its the framerate signal being output to TV.

Don't forget that RGB output is disabled when playing DVD's on a PS2. So you need to apply a colour fix or use a modchip for that to work.
