Ok, i cannot backup most of my new dvd movies. I use dvd shrink or dvd decrypter and... error, do you know any good program for backup?
Firstly, use a dvd-r cause dvd-rw will not work with ps2... try using Dup-DVD to make your backups and try using sony dvd-r's or other good quality dvd-r's like maxell etc..

i got a LG dvd writer. it a +/- R. But when i'm trying to backup the dvd i think is some kind of protection or ... i will try with this program you provide it. Thanks.
EDIT i've tried the program and it doesnt do copy i want to copy a dvd to another dvd in the same format. This program only converts dvd to vcd or svcd. That dvd Shrinker was verry good but with the new protection on dvd's it's obsolete. this kind of program i'm searching :)

DVD Shrink 3.2.17 (i think) work for 95% of movies.
For the other 5%, it's more complicated. Use DVD Decrytper (mode files)
Use DVD95 to shrink the files made by DVD Decrypter.
Use the programm u want (nero or other) to create a DVD movies with the shrinked files.
Hope this help.
But, what is the link with PS2 stuff :nono:

dvdshrink doesn't work for all movies since new protection are used not to mention dvdshrink is no longer updated, you can try dvdfab

I just use DVD Decrypter, or if that doesn't work, I use DVDFab.

I use AnyDVD to decrypt (plus it breaks any copy protection) -
http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html
Also, AnyDVD works in the background so it can make other programs that aren't as good with the newer protections (i.e. DVD Decrypter) work 100%.
For shrinking - DVD Shrink, Nero Recode, DVD2One are all in my toolbox.
Burn 'em at 2X - 4X max (for compatibility with most DVD players) and you should be GTG!!!

sk3tch had the same idea as me, I use anydvd from slysoft, since it essetially removes copy protection. There is another dvd copier designed to work with it. clone dvd from elby soft. both work good together, only downside is their not freeware, they are commercial but you can try them as fully functional demos for 3 weeks I think

DVDFab is an excellent tool to use if you only want to use a single software to do it. Full control over what is backed up, too. Decrypts and shrinks to fit on a single layer DVD. Whatever.
Or if you go the DVD Decrypter route, decrypt using DVD Decrypter (I've never run into a problem disc, unless it was scratched to hell). Then once you have decrypted it to your HDD, load up Nero Recode (it's been part of Nero for quite some time now... since v6.something or so -- in v7, start -> programs -> nero 7 <whatever> edition -> photo and video -> nero recode... or open it from Nero StartSmart). It's really easy to use. You choose what you want. Backup just the movie or the full disk.
You can also convert the movie using Nero's own MPEG-4 codec. Kinda like XviD/DivX, but supposedly offers better quality at lower bitrates. Kinda new and definitely not adopted by the pirate "scene" or any standalone DVD players, so who knows where that will go.
Anyway, choose whatever. Select the source (where you decrypted to), select all your options (Audio Streams, Subtitles, etc), select what you want to do with it (Burn to DVD, Folder on HDD). Pretty easy. I started using this shortly after I was already using DVDShrink for a little while and I haven't switched to anything else yet. No problems with it ever. Make sure you don't forget to set the options from within Nero Recode (High Quality and such).

I use DVD Decrypter to rip the .ISO then shrink it with DVD Shrink, much more control.

Ripping the contents of the disc with DVD Decrypter in file mode is the same as having the ISO on the hard drive. I guess I don't understand how it gives you "much more control"?
I use AnyDVD (beats almost all copy protection schemes...Disney, etc.) in the background, AnyDVD or DVD Decrypter to rip, and DVD2One or DVDShrink to do DVD9 to DVD5 compression.
I just rip the whole DVD to the hard drive in file mode.
