Problem accessing mass:/

I'm attempting to use launchelf versions 3.41 and 3.55 with hdloader.
The problem occurs when I try to move the hdloader ELF file from either of my three usbkeys to the mc. launchelf simply locks up whenever I try to access mass:/ with usbkey inserted.
I know the usb ports work as I used them to transfer the modified gamesave from the usbkey via armax.
Is this a known bug, or are there any other ways for me to get the hdloader.elf onto my mc?

I don't have any advice for fixing your USB problem, but there are other ways of getting a file to your memory card: burn a CDR/DVDR/W, or network transfer with host/FTP.

meh turns out all three were just incompatible. no biggie.
