I have a PS2 with no modchip but i do have a gameshark 2. i recently tried burning pgen2 and snes-station onto a cd-r's. i followed the instructions exactly but the game still wont load when i swap out the disks. what could i be doing wrong?

I thought you still needed a chip installed but I dont know about pgen so don't take my advice :D

First i pop in my gameshark2. then i go to "start game without codes", then when it says to switch out the disks i put pgen into the tray (or snes station) and hit x, then it freezes.

btw, are there any emulators that i can burn for ps2 that are self-booting, without the swap trick or a modchip?

What did you do that made it work?

the problem is, when you click "start games without codes", the ps2 reauthenticates the disc. and since your using a CDR there isn't much to authenticate :) so it freezes. the solution is to swap the GS with your CDR without the ps2 knowing (ie, without pressing the eject button or ejecting the disc using GS).
google for swapping methods (cogswap, knife trick, taking apart your console), then use that method to switch discs.
good luck
