Hi, i read up on how to boot elf's from a usb thumbdrive using swap magic 3.6, and I know now that you can make a folder /SWAPMAGIC/ on your thumbdrive and either name your program SWAPMAGIC.ELF or SMBOOT#.ELF where # is 0-3.
At first, I tried it with naming it SWAPMAGIC.ELF on my usb drive, and when swap magic comes up, it shows the normal swap magic screen for a second or two, then goes black for about a second, then I get a jarbled mess of the images from the Swap Magic menu. Nothing continues to load from there.
I then tried naming it SMBOOT0.ELF and when the SM screen came up I hit UP+L1, and it did the same as I described above. I tried this with both CD and DVD versions of SwapMagic.
After that, I took a second look at the readme file for myPS2 because I remembered something about USB drive support and putting a file on it. I got the USBD.irx file from the naplink download and put it in the same dir as my .elf file on the usb drive... still nothing. I get the same jarbled images/text from the swap magic menu.
<edit>
I forgot to mention that I also downloaded PS2MP3SE 1.3 posted on the main page of this site, and named it SMBOOT1.ELF, and it loads fine (though it keeps freezing whenever I try and play a file. I just thought I would mention that I have been able to at least boot A program off of my usb thumbdrive.. just that I can't get myPS2 to work.
</edit>
I don't know if im missing something here, or what. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Info about my setup as follows:
PS Two ~ SCPH-70012 ~ NTSC ~ Magic Switch ~ Swap Magic 3.6 US version
<edit2>I got it working. I used this post as a guide:

So now I have all the myps2 files in the badata folder on the mem card, and I renamed ulaunchelf to SMBOOT0.ELF and put it in the SWAPMAGIC/ folder on my mem card as well. Now I just put in my swap magic disc, press up+L1, it loads ULaunchElf, 5 second timeout, and it automatically loads myPS2
