pstwo usbd.irx sms ??? help me

hello I am beginner, I have a pstwo, I do not manage to make detect my hard disk with sms. I put well
mc0:/BOOT/USBD.IRX

mc0:/SYS-CONF/USBD.IRX
mc0:/SMS/USBD.IRX
but Ca does not function, why.

afflicted for my English I am French
I went to see the bond but even problem that me. took the file of napalm as in the handbook. I put the files usbd.irx in the menu sms/ and dated system, but I put anything on host because I do not return there to the repertory. one needs another usbd?????

I have test my usbd with ps2media pro of ps2reality and it detecte my disk hard.

@laudema: Are you trying to use an external usb mass storage device, or an internal hard disc drive?

USBD.IRX is the USB support driver for using an USB drive plugged into the front of the PS2. It is nothing to do with an internal hard disc drive.

If you've got another USB pen drive, try using that. If it works, you know there's nothing wrong with your USBD.IRX. If you still have problems, please help us by explaining exactly what type of drive you have, and how you are trying to connect it.

Ok, let me just get this straight...
1) you have an external hard disc drive (i.e. one with a rotating disc) like from inside a PC,
2) the drive is presumably mounted in some sort of hard drive bay that you bought, and this has a USB connection on it.
3) You are connecting the USB cable from your hard drive to one of the front USB ports on your pstwo.

Is this all correct if not please let me know.?

You are putting USBD.IRX in the right place, so if this is the case, then the problem may be that the hard drive is not formatted in a way that SMS understands. I think it has to be fat32 formatted. Note that if there is more than one partition on the hard disc drive, SMS will only look at the first one.

I've got an external USB hard drive, but it doesn't work with SMS because the first partition is NTFS.

Please note that not all usb drives work anyway, so you may just be unlucky with your particular drive.

yes it is an external hard disk to go up in a case to format in fat32 with usbadvance tool. the only one which did not reconnait my dd, it is sms. launchef, media player pro reconnait my DD. usbd.irx in the DD, on the mc

you only need it in one correct place, so it should work how it is now. if not, maybe try a diferent UDSBD.IRX. or try format your HDD on your PC. (FAT32)

its strange that uLaunchELF and media player pro work but SMS does not...

try another USBD from one of your games or look for one on the internet.

yes I look at films via the DD on the pstwo. but sms not, when I start sms, I have that the icone media. however my usbd is place as indicated above

well i just sent u the one that i use which came with one of the packages on PS2Dev (i forget which)... check your email.

but i dunno if it'll help.

also, make sure that you dont have other versions of it in places that SMS looks cause it uses the first one it finds.

not tested yet, but I tested my usbd with ps2mp3 1.2b and there detecte my DD.bizarre because it is only sms which does not want any. I keep you informed of tone usbd has you.
