The intension of this thread is to show our heartfelt appreciation to EEUG and all other individuals involved in this project. Whenever EEUG needs a little bit of encouragement he knows where to look. We'll see if this takes off :)
Please refrain from requesting support, features or any other comments other than our appreciation. Thanks!
I'll start. I've got a Crystal 1.0 chip in a V7 and, hands down, SMS and HDloader are the 2 best homebrew applications out there. SMS is THE best app that extends the PS2 beyond simply gaming and into the multimedia entertainment realm. I personally use the USB HD support for viewing Divx movies and it is absolutely fantastic.
Of course I have my wishes but for the mostpart, SMS is utterly amazing in it's current form. Well done EEUG and please keep up the good work!

i've got a V9 un-modded ps2. SMS works great, and the dvd video disc support is awesome... gave it to some relatives on a HDD (along with a network adapter) for xmas. i don't think the person who recieved it has finished watching it all yet.

Since I got SMS, my PS2 is spending more times playing DivX then games. The program is fast, works perfectly for what I need (I never come across a bug;)) So with other words, how can this become better than it already is? I personally think it's strange that SCE never tried to contact EEUG about buying this piece of gold;)

Awesome. Just awesome. It's already on my box. I've been thinking about attaching a PC (I don't trust the life of a DVD-R just yet) to my parents' television so they can watch archived DVDs, but now I think i'll just buy them a playstation 2. Thanks so much. It's gonna work beautifully.

I have never posted here before, but decided to once I saw the thread's subject.
I stumbled upon SMS a while ago, and it took me a while to get it running properly. Now that I did, I am very appreciative. This program knocks the socks off the competitor's program which I had used for a while. SMS not only runs Divx's, but runs all the ones I've thrown at it flawlessly. To me, my PS2 is now a proper multimedia system. I don't need to convert my Divx's to DVD's or purchase a standalone Divx player (Yes!! I saved on buying more useless hardware). I didn't think it was posssible, the PS2 being underpowered compared to an XBox and all, but EEUG is a programming genius ;)
Besides the creator, I'd like to thank this forum, with so many posters who are dedicated to helping others solve their SMS problems. Also to Dave_t's manual, which I have bookmarked and downloaded the manuual to.
Great stuff guys!

SMS prevented me from buying a au$1500 htpc. The quality coding means there is (almost) no bugs, and the program is very stable. From the first host based version with no UI, to the versions now with a full UI and features such as MP3 playback, development has been rock solid. SMS is turning the PS2 into a true media center.
So a big thankyou goes out to everyone who has contributed, EEUG, bixante, mr worm, and everyone else who I havnt mentioned (there a quite a few!)

SMS movies is what I fall asleep to. Right now it's my favorite program period. I get avi xvid movies and just watch them while going to bed. I show off to my brothers the screen size features and recently I found out about audio streams that there was an option to select them. I mean this program is the shit period and I appreciate your efforts EEUG. I will keep my PS2 even after I get my PS3 just because of SMS. Thanks alot your the man

So he can stream stuff from his computer (15" monitor) to his 60" TV! Long Live SMS! :-pray: :applaud: btw version 1.6 is very nice! The interface looks much more clean and movie playback seems smoother (especially audio)

SMS is awesome, i used to use my Philips dvd player to play my divx but now its so much easier...no burning required and i can stream my video and audio from the pc like its nothing. Simply amazing!
Now i dont have to spend $200 on that D-Link media center thing that supposed to stream video and audio over the network to your tv.
Runs without any problems and very smoothly on my 108G network, i was supprised to see that it streams the divx without any glitches.
Awesome job guys!, your work is greatly appreciated!

If it's wired then it should be good enough quality. But I used to work at CircuitCity and the wireless media center option is crap. Quality is terrible. The whole time I was there we (as a store) only sold 1 or 2.
Stick with SMS. :)

This is a fantastic program that turns the ps2 into a fully fledged multimedia system.
The network streaming works flawlessly with mp3 and all divx/xvid files I have tried so far :)
The background skin is a nice touch to customise your SMS. I also thought that having the choice of activating hd, usb, network was inspired.
I run SMS from my memory card and stream media from my pc, so I dont activate the ps2 hard drive, which keeps it nice and quiet when watching movies or tv episodes.
The workaround using dvd video format discs to contain mp3, divx/xvid is a stroke of genius. Now I can pass on media to friends to play on their ps2's
Thank you and well done to all concerned on this essential ps2 application. I will be letting all my friends know about this excellent media player.
