elo
now i have flashed my chip with toxic 0.41..few days it was fine, later after i booted the machine, it went straight to sony browser, i set it the dev mode to toxic OS...wtf..
then i tested by games, the original ones dont have any problems but the backed up ones can boot..RSOD. i tried disabling the chip..no chip disabled notification. it seems like the dms was not installed at all. i had my shares of trouble with toxic OS 0.3 but this is the worst. i sent my ps2 to my pal since he modded it and he said that now the machine does not even display PICTURE!! the machine boots yes but no pictture..WTF is going on??! is my dms4pro dead??

.... odd indeed. My chip has been working like a champ

maybe it was due to the singapore flash

lets not pretend that dms is the only chips that die, lets keep useless comments like juventini's somewhere else, and lets listen to experienced installers like EspeN or myself. remove the chip, clean up and reinstall. if it doesnt work then confirm the chip is dead by swaping in another dms4. if you still think its flash related then ground this pin to force the chip to use the factory firmware

Guess what. I have this same issue with my very own V12 DMS4 Pro. I havent used it in a long time and went to upgrade it to toxic os 0.41. It kept giveing me the retry error over and over. I then reset the console and get a completely red screen. If I tap rest 3 or 4 times I can get to the Sony browser but back-ups dont work, dev1 mod doesnt work, toxic os 0.41 cd-r wont boot, chip wont disable. Damn DMS4's are always a pain in the ass and this time its on MY CONSOLE. And I can make any shitty comment I want hyper cuz I am a professional installer. :)
OK rant over.... the picture you posted Hyper .... does that arrow point to the via or the round pad? And your saying that grounding that will force the DMS4 to use the factory flash? Well thats good to know. Then what I flash the chip again with toxic, turn off the console and remove the short?

Use the round pad.Connect it to ground and flash the chip with toxicos. Don't forget to remove the connection after you finished the flash.

Thanks atikosh
Have you successfully done this yourself already?

More than 100 times.
Really ?....hmmm well I dont see how it worked for you 100 time. I just did it and the only thing it fixed was I now dont get the solid red screen. However all the other problems remain. It wont boot to dev1 mode, wont boot the toxic os disc and wont disable. Oh and I still have to tap reset 3 time before I can get out of the BSOD and senter the Sony browser .... looks like Toxic OS killed another chip, right on!

Try to flash with toxicos0.2. Maybe it helps in your case.

Nope that didnt work either. I have to tap reset 3 times to get passed the BSOD then the sony browser appears with toxic os 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.41 in the drive it trys to boot then I get the RSOD.... no this is not an install error I it was working 100% before the flash error and yes I checked the CDVD points anyway and they are all good. Regardless even if the CDVD point were not good I should be able to boot to Dev1 mode and flash it which I cant!!!!!!! what crap and I have seen many people comment about this same issue and have not seen DMS or Toxic address it yet and most likely wont.

It seems that the flash memory of the chip is defected. It was a common problem in DMS4 Pro.By the way Dms4 S.E. Pro has randomly BSOD problem and twice reset problem .So I'm offering MI rather than DMS to my customers untill the DMS team solve the problem.

No shit ....you think:rolleyes:
Yeah I know about the SE, and I'm a firm supporter of the MI. What makes you think the DMS team will do anything to resolve this, unless they replace mine and your chips we are out.

You know what I just thought of something a little funny. The MI has aint clone flash upgrades that kill clones, the DMS4 has anti code that kills its self, thats just great, good job team Toxic/DMS.

the round pad... and the idea is to hook a switch between that and ground so you can turn it on and off ;)

I have a Dms4Pro from a customer that gives a shitload of solid red screens as well. Tried everything under the sun, and it still does the same thing. Replaced it with a DMS4Pro SE. That fixed the red screen and leaves me with the black screens upon boot up every odd time. Needless to say, switched to MI's after all this crap.

same crap for me...I turn on the PS2, a red screen flashes once after about 3 seconds, then more black. Sometimes it will eventually go to the Sony browser, but the chip never boots
