hello, i have a problem watching Naruto on my ps2.
i tried streaming it and sending it to the hdd, but both of them have the same problem.
After a few secs of playing, SMS will just go bak to the main menu, as if the file has finished playing, but it is not.
All Naruto eps and the Naruto Movie show this. MAybe the groups encoded differently or something. I can play these files perfectly on my pc, and through the Reality Player (although it does lag..)
does anyone els have this problem?
i LOVE sms because it can play all my other xvid and divx movies witout lag throught the network/hdd ^__^ :D

Have u tried playing any other movies besides the Naruto episodes?
But that's a weird error none the less...

yes, i tired playing some samples from various movies and they work perfectly.
i played a bit of the rockman movie and it was ok.
also i watched the whole king kong movie thorugh sms and it was fine, (cept a few parts were there were no audio and video studderd a bit)
also, i wanted to know how to play after fast forward'n?
i tried fast forward'n, but i can't stop it, it'll just keep forwarding untill the file ends.

Well... I can't see an explanation for it... maybe u better post the info about the movies (codecs and stuff)...
Perhaps it can help find the problem =/

I don't have any Naruto on my pc anymore but it seems to be a problem with loading the index from Dattebayo fansubs. I've watch all fansubs up to 144 with no problem but they were AnimeOne and ANBU fansubs from Gotwoot. Dattebayo seems to be the only group that does fansubs for newer episodes but SMS has issues playing them.

Everything seems to be ok, anyway you could try to reencode it with Virtualdubmod (direct stream copy) it takes less than a minute, the see if you notice any difference...

Like Mr. Worm~~ said, the codec and settings seem to be ok. Re-encode with VirtualDub set to "Direct Stream Copy" (for both the video and audio streams). And Save As AVI. This will essentially re-mux it, without loss of quality. Be sure to post your results.

this sort of thing's happened to me before... any audio/video sync issues, and the first thing i do is to send the file through VirtualDub on direct stream copy... fixes it all the time.
(at least for all the videos i've used)

I also get this eaxact problem. Also with only the Dattebayo fansubs. The problem is, as far as I know they are athe only people who have released any episodes from 150 on. So I unfortunately have to watch them on my PC.
