I have SMS ver. 1.4 (rev.6) working, streaming avi files over the network. Love the project, this is a great program. I replaced rev.6 with rev. 8 to see the difference and my PS2 won't recognize my computer anymore over the network when I use PS2Client GUI. I switched back to ver.6 and it works fine. Is there any big difference between the two? I would really like a fast forward and reverse control (will that ever happen)?

It already has ff rew in revision 8. Just use the directional buttons. Also the network is working fine in rev. 8. Are you using radhost client?

Edit: see above for network problem

and if network icon appears ;) MC savings can differ from each revision, So as Bix said check settings in menu and then re-save. No matter which client are you using on PC, RadHost or Ps2Client, with the last one has to be started after SMS network interface is loaded...

Or see this http://www.ps2-scene.org/forums/showthread.php?t=39512&page=5

default setting for rev8 - disable network (faster boot time)

just enable network using the menu

does SMS render 700mb divx files without skipping?

absolutely!
it can probably do twice that bitrate (assuming you're talking about a video file with the length of a typical feature movie).

yeah basicaly a 700 mb divx movie is all. I remember PS2 media pro was skipping all the time, it was only able to stream cam's from what I experienced. Can't wait for ps2 PVS Explorer.
