Hello,
I'm Belgian so excuse my language :D
I recently bought a PSTwo V14 SCPH-75004 and a CC1.1. My question is : must I put down a fix on the motherboard for more safety ? Or it's useless ?
Thank you :)
Use summ0ne's fix just to be sure.

Thanks for your answer.
I bought this Fix : http://www.ominfo.com/redir.pl?url=http://www.ominfo.com/cgi-bin/bases_ominfo.pl?fid=1101378965&cgifunction=form
But the plan of the fix is for v12...It's the same for a v14 ?
Sorry but you wasted your money. Hmmm v14, I wonder if the summ0ne fix work on that.

Why apply summ0ne fix when v13/v14 resistors are 01d ?

01d ? What does it mean ? So I will put down only the cc1.1 ?
o1d is the label on the resistor.

v13 and v14 do not require fixes
v13 and v14 do not require fixes
Can never be too safe.

But if the resistors are now at a safe/different value with the v13/14's applying the fix for old resistor values on the new resistors could cause problems if not damage. This makes sense, unless I'm missing something...
I'm not sure about that one. Haven't been doing research on that but I've heard of people applying summ0ne's fix to v13 and still working great. Maybe summ0ne can shed some light.

you only need apply the summone to v12 units. The v13/v14 has laser protection built into the board. Further protection could cause problems with disc reading in the future and can inhibit firmware upgrading.
I know that the v13+ have the new laser protection from Sony but you can never be too safe was the idea I had. Hmmm works fine with some of the ones I worked with. Thanks for the info though.

I installed a Comsoft v4 fix in a V13 and laser died after 8 days, did not melt like v12 just won't read DVD. Installed new laser and removed v4 fix and no problems in a month

it is a waist of time and $ to use a fix on the v13 and above . this has been proved on this board some time ago . i have been doing v13s for months with out a fix and not 1 problem ..
