help with soldering

hello im new to installing modchips and am about to attemp my first instal but what i need to know is do i apply the solder to the wire first then heta up the part on the motherboard im attaching the wire to or do i apply the solder the the motherboard first then attach the wire

I always attach solder on mobo first then i stick the wire and solder it. Other ppl might use other methods, i dunno.

If u never solder before, you shouldnt start on a ps2 ...seriously.You should practice on a old pc motherboard first and find out how to do it, because lot of ppl ending up wasting lot of time and destroying their ps2 first time they try to attach a chip if they have no solder experience.
