I want to know if I can convert a avi file, using Datel's action replay Max to allow me to play it using the software provided? and is it any good?
It is to be played on an unmodded PS2

I recently got it and tested it. It seems to work pretty good. I have only tried an mpg file so far. The mp3 player works good too in AR MAX.

Well if you use the PC software provided, and it recognizes your file, no conversion needed. The "convert" icon pops up but its not needed. Just burn to cd-r.

Problem with the cdr system (which was my only choice because it refused to recognise my memory stick) is that you have to burn a specific disk for every movie which is useless elsewhere. Plus, divx movies that usually juuuuust squeezed onto a CDR wont make an image file because of the exces crap at the start to adhere to their odd filesystem.

I think it was that he wanted to be able to play AVI's on his ps2 because avi's are better compressed.

Why don't you guys use SMS ? It is much better and more efficient... Since you have an AR Max you could install the exploit and then use SMS ;) to play your DivXs
