Well not sure if its the right place to post it for starters but....i have a ps2 modding it with the dms4 ezi pro solderless and i purchased the network adapter for the hard drive. I just purchased a Maxtor 300GB 7200 rpm 16mb buffer. I looked for answers in a few forums but most posts seemed old and unanswered so i joined this forum. Can this hard drive be used in the ps2? and what do i have to do. any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it an SATA drive, it won't work, exchange it for an IDE drive.
If it is an IDE drive, it should be ok as maxtor drives tend to have to connectors in the correct place.
The back of the hard drive simply plugs into the network adaptor, and then the network adaptor is plugged into the PS2 and screwed down. The drive ends up sliding into the cavity in the bottom right corner of the console. Then the DMS4 menu will let you format and use the hard drive.

Make sure you have Toxic OS installed. Format it with extended partition so it will recognize the full 300MB.
