is magnifying glass really usefull?

I never used it, because when looking trough it, I can't meassure the distance between the tip and the boards!!
is it possible to get around with this??

i dont use magnefying glas because i think it just give like fake 3D almost 2D feeling.

ye like the other guys say its only really for trouble shooting, its a bt freaky trying to get anything lined up otherwise;)

i use one every install, its a high quality lens on its own stand with a fluro light inside, no vision distortion and makes your installs so much accurate.
i wouldnt mod without one.
