Distorted sound via digital optic and PS2 does NOT see the Network adapter :(

Hi guys, i bought a second hand PS2 for a friend of mine( i wrecked his while i tried to mod it lol), so i bought him another one, it has a matrix infinity in it, all works great, except for the Netwrok adapter and the digital optic out :S the sound is distorted, is this due to a contact that has gone loose or anything ?

Any help aprreciated :)

what firmware is on the infininty ??

i have found in earlyer firm versions of the infinity bugs in the optical out
especially in the 39004

another common failure off distorted sound is DUST in the optical connector

what is the failure of the network adapter ??

possible a fuse is broken near by the Expensian bay connector

also check the connector for damaged pins and yes there it is again DUST

I have repaired LOTS of PS2's only with a can of dust remover :dance:

thank u VERY much for ur golden info ! :D i noticed that the optical out is working finre at a friends house now, and i will check the fuse ( if i can find it :S) and indeed it IS an 39004 ! howd u know :|?

I got firmware 0.54 on it now (latest) optical out working great now ;)

only hting left is the fuse ( maybe) in the expansion bay, would u have a picture maybe of the location 0of that fuse ?

btw, the network adapter always worked fine but it just stopped all of a sudden :S ( i bought it second hand, and the guy told me fair and square it wasnt working, altough it always worked in the past)

how i know it was a 39004 :) after moding more then 4000 ps2/pstwo in 2 years you need to have learned something :D

about the fuses look at the attached diagram
by the way strange you did not had the diagram while you have so manny tools on your ftp (how i know this i found you on mrmod ;) to)
