What exactly are the current bugs? just the slow network problems for a select few? (I have a V1 console which works perfectly fine)

For me the most important "features" would be improved sound quality and, if not possible to eliminate, reduction of "stutter" problems. I suppose both of these would fall into "Improve Performance" category, so... : )

To hard to choose :banghead: :p
EDIT: I know this should be in the feature request thread, but hey I think this could be part of the next update.
Maybe a options/config screen, I have an idea for a layout and what options to have. I'll make a moke screen shot, along with some descriptions and upload it later in the feature request thread ;)

I want to choose a few too :D
I voted for improve in performance, and quality(not in the list). I think since this is a movie player, it need to do what it does best and that is play movie with good performance and quality. SMS already play at stable performance but it could always need to improve performance right? The quality of the movie is a bit less desireable than ps2reality(as ps2reality have compared them on their site lol) I have some anime with subtitle on them and I could read it clearly with ps2reality but it's a little jagged and hard to read on SMS. Also I don't get why SMS doesn't fill 4:3 movie on my whole TV screen. It have verticle black bars on the side. It fill 19:9 movie perfectly, why not 4:3?
@Stand: is it NTSC or PAL? No way for me to fiddle with the first one :). On my site (PAL) I don't have any "jagged" effect (at least on MY TV). No effect - no fix. Same for "vertical black bars" (if you want me to take a look at your movie - just share it somewhere ;))...

Here's the verticle black bar problem. I think the jagged pictures problem is because SMS stretch the movie in? That's why I think there are verticle black bars on my TV. PS2Reality fill the whole screen when I play that same clip so may be there's a problem with SMS somewhere? My tv is a NTSC. I'm in the States, and NTSC is all they have ;)
...yes, I see, thank you. This problem is a result of incorrect initialization of GS for NTSC consoles. The Linux Kit documentation is not really clear about that, so I would fix this problem by playing with numbers inside 'GS.c' (something similar I did for PAL) (probably looking for more fresh sources in gsKit's code at ps2dev). Any research in this area would be really appreciated :)...

Probably not many people voting here that have troubles with the language of shakespeare for their movies (please do NOT tell me we have a lot of people who watch dubbed films here, that's a crime against humanity ;-) ), but subtitles would be very much appreciated by my g/f!
Probably shouldn't be too hard to implement, as some other opensource players (not for PS2 tho) have that support already.
Keep going guys!

Thats the reason of this polling, as you can see I live in Argentina and speaks spanish and 95% of movies has subs, but have to respect others opinions too, in order to stablish priorities for further development... ;)

If " Extra codecs" win, and it takes 6 months to put WMV codec support, but in the other hand " Christmas tree items" loses, but can e done in a week, there will be something wrong... :) But I'm sure the final decision is from EEUG, and will be good one! Anyway, I vote for subtitles (but I guess Christmas tree items can be done faster). From the poll items, my personal priority is:
1 - Subtitles (Personal need. But will loose, as I think most people are from USA and don't need it.)
2 - Christmas tree items (it makes more people use it)
3 - Attempt to improve performance (if there's space to it, why not?)
4 - Fix existing bugs/drivers first (there are so many?)
5 - Extra codecs (first make SMS do EVERYTHING better than ps2reality related to video playing, then later make it UNIQUE to video playing in ps2 world)

What you say completely makes sense, and goes from least amount of time needed to most. My opinion on a few though would be that you can never really make something perfect, but atleast near perfect. While most time could and should be spent improving performance/bugfixes, it'll never really become perfect and there will most likely be some minor bug or somethig. Time spent trying to achieve perfection while forgetting that there are other things that can be implimented will surely slow down progress. While also adding in new features can also create new bugs. About the codec, I don't think every codec is and should be supported. It would be great, but some of them could wait until most other things are finished if at all such as wmv, asf, mov, etc... But other widely used codes such as divx/avi,xvid,mpeg should and there is already support for all of those except for mpeg.

After actually trying out SMS v1.4, I'd have to change my vote. I voted for improving performance, but I saw that it was already good. The only problem with performance is VBR audio/odd bitrates. It's a not big deal, it's easy to re-encode audio. I think that the christmas tree items would be better (OSD, FF, and REW).
Anyways, I'm not in a hurry. ;) I'd like to thank the 3 main developers of this killer ps2 app. PS2Reality MediaPlayer Pro used to lag. ActionReplay Max lagged on my Family Guy vids, and even clips that were in low resolution had sync problems. And here we have these 3 guys doing it for the scene, and whopping their butts!
