ToxicOS 0.4 is close to a release!!!!!

Here is some news you've been waiting for! Team Toxic has passed along a feature list for the upcoming ToxicOS release for DMS4 Pro modchip users and these are some impressive features. Upcoming public BETA builds of ToxicBIOS and ToxicOS are due to be released soon although there has been no specific release date set. Check out the feature list!


ToxicBIOS changes:

* Problems booting some DVD games while DVD DL autopatch is enabled have been resolved.
* Problems booting some DVD movies while the modchip is enabled have been resolved.


ToxicOS changes:

* Addition of the "Dev.olution Flash" boot mode. This allows you to copy an ELF file of your choice to the DMS4 flash and have this ELF loaded when your console boots by either holding R2 or setting the default boot mode.
* The integrated cheat device has been added (similar capabilities to Action Replay etc)
* Support for selecting your own wallpaper for the ToxicOS GUI.
* Support for launching homebrew ELF files stored on any supported storage medium.
* Integrated FTP server for transferring files in between PS2 and PC via network.
* Common file browser has been added and is used in several places to select files, ie selecting wallpaper, selecting devolution ELF. The file browser supports several storage mediums including memory card, cdrom, HDD and usb mass storage.
* Improved compatibility when running games from the HDD.
* Black screen after PSX game bug has been fixed.
* Miscellaneous bugfixes.
* Added diagnostic screens displaying HDD and system information.
* All ToxicBIOS changes are also included.

the cheat engine is just cosmic cheat and the ftp server is obviously the driver from ps2dev.

If the FTP server and cheat engine aren't half-assed, this will probably make DMS the most attractive mod on the market. MI and CC have some catching up to do.

I am no longer biased towards any modchip developer unless its a cloner. I have my reasons to be upset with mr.dms but you gotta look ahead to new frontiers. Im a bigger fan of the crystal chip so i hope they can get going on their next bootmanager and add these features and more.

There will be some nice USB based features as well in this release.

Once you upload your USBD.IRX to the DMS4 flash, you will be able to install wallpapers and ELFS from memory stick.

Does your USB support allow the use of a USB hard drive, rather then having to use a network card.

im not quite sure what you are asking. you can browse the USB drive for ELF files and execute them.

if your asking wether or not you can run games of the USB drive through hdloader, then no, you cant.

Hypersonic... Do you know if thier is any possibilities of having DMS HDD DUMP and FORMAT like features along with the File Browser. Also how will the cheat device work. Like will you be able to dl a massive cheat archive (like ar max) or no.

they wont be inbuilt, but you will be able to install them, or launch them from the elf browser.

i dont know the specifics of the cheat device.

As in is the BSOD bug fixed whereas you can boot a psx disk but on next boot you get BSOD...Yes this bug has been fixed

No this is merelty the SNES_station .elf file, and no it will not run roms from hdd.

<G> what makes you so positive that this FTP browser is from ps2dev. And if you know information about comsic cheat...Can you tell us if cosmic cheat is identical to ARMax in which you can download a database of cheats or do you have to do it by hand for each game.

Man, when is this thing suppose to be released? It's been almost a month since they said they were close to a release and we haven't heard squat from team toxic, i think theyr'e bulls**ting us, probably be waiting another month.

ps2ftpd is very buggy and unrelyable so either complely new ftpserver will be included, or a heavily modified version ps2ftpd will be included.

How long will we have to wait for a release? it's been two weeks since the screen shot where released and still nothing. Maybe they should of not say anything until they release it or at least just give a time frame,
when they say ''soon'' for all we know it could be just next year. It could also be just a tactic to sell more dms4 pro. How do we know that those images are not just photoshop images. They could just release some kind of demo and leave out the buggy stuff, at least we would know that this app realy exist...

"Buy DMS chips cause we MIGHT release these new cool features" its taken more than 2 months since this was announced, we got teased with pictures, and theres no information as to when it will get finished. I personally dont care a lot.. it would be nice to get the new features put in but even so .3 works fine for me.

You are wrong pacman. The screenshots were released on the 17th of september but the official announcement that 0.4 was "close" to release came on the 24th of august. It has been nearly two months now and it is obvious that this was just the dms team using its affiliates like ps2hd to hype their product. And to think people bitched about matrix infinity taking a long time to release updates. At least they dont feed bullshit stories then not produce anything. :barf:
