v12 lens changing !! need some info

i am a little bit confused here .
lets say i have got a v12 with a spu3170 laser ( the wide laser)
and i have bought a pvr802 full optical block . will it work if i just replace the whole optical block or do i need to use the lenschanger ?

You replace the entire assembly, and then you use the lenschanger. There is a thread discussing this and has the files you need.

yes i have red it but it looks like some poeple were able to replace it without the use of the lenschanger

Yes you can simply replace the lens and it will work, but the performance is not what it should (strange seeking of the lens, boot issues, etc)

Its fairly quick to use lenschanger (if your familiar with ps2link)
