hi I am about to solder my matrix infinity into my v5 ps2. I would like to know a couple of things. First off...the placement of my chip....where should I put the modchip once all the soldering is done? And how should I put it there? What I mean is the placement of the chip. Secondly...is there a specific way to organize the wires...I know I need hot glue for that but is there a specific trail?
(pictures would be helpful)
Thanks

first of all, palce your chip as close as possible to the -- and +, MI dont react wel when u have long wires( -- and + should be thicker too, but u already knew that i hope).
Secondly there is no specific trail in how the wires should be, but make them as short as possible, and ofcoz dont let them sit between metal and stuff...
Good luck, modding a V-5 is very heroic since they r pretty sensetive, i fkd up 2 PS2's in 1 day lol...V-7 is still the best to mod i think :P

Put the chip to the left of the bios, that's what I did.
I modded my v5 PS2 with a MI yesterday. Before that I'd never soldiered before, after the install it was in perfect order. So I wouldn't say that it's a dirty job. I think v10+ are the harder ones.

The hardest in my opinion was the V3!
V5s are easy as are V4, V7
I had most problems with V9 but that was my 2nd Mod and was caused by sloppy soldering!!!
