My modded PS2 can't play original Japanese games!

Hi- I just bought some Japanese games, and I can't play them on my PS2! The games are authentic, but the weird thing is I can still play my backups and other Japanese DVDs. My PS2 is US v7 and has dms3. Any suggestions?

You know I had a similar incident with a Duo2 install on a V3. For some odd reason it didn't want to read original import games. I never did figure out what the problem was.

I just tried an original Japanese PSX game and it worked fine! I guess everything works(including movies) except original Japanese PS2 games.
