View Full Version : SubZero fix question and confusion..

Hi!

Ive sold a lot of premods last month, all of them with 01d resistor.
Ive applied the subzero fix as the diagrams show me, the rule is simple

01d = Dont solder any track/focus
683 = Solder but dont close jumper
303 = Solder & Close jumper.

Aight. These ps2 boards has been v12 boards all of them, and they have 01d.
Now i read in other threads that 01d should have 4k7 resistor.

So have i fucked up here?
Should i add a 4k7 resistor when i apply the subzero fix as extra protection??

Please reply, because i have 3 more ps2 i will do today!

ps! I might confuse 10d and 01d, but i think its 01d right?

Yes, you must add 4.7k to 01D resistor.

damn.. So, i guess i will get them back them..
I think this is very unclear for many ppl. They think as I did that the subzero fix was summ0ne on pcb.

So the lasers will prob be focked up now then?

nope - the shutdown part of the subzero fix relaxes things a bit
->YOU DO NOT NEED to add a 4k7

as long as you soldered the other part of the fix - your v12 will be as safe as a v13 ;-)
(which is safe)

as the v13 shuts down the rs2004fs and has a 01d resistor

following http://subzero-chip.com/szX.jpg will do just fine for applying the fix to any v12

well summ0ne , im confused as well , im about to mod a v13 ?? (01d resistor)
and the cuting track is not same as v12 as well , so first what to cut ?
seconed , except cuting ? nothing else needed then the cut point and the wire ?

if the SubZero fix pcb does not fit on there, its a v13 and do not apply any fix!
check http://www.neoasic.com/images/70001-logo.jpg and if the "new pcb layout" is present, forget about the fix

i was about to edit my post as i just read not all 01d resistor are v13 , but mine is.
and you already replayed ;)

it got wide lens thought .... (made in chine on the back , SPU3170 G)
Im a bit scared cuz last lens like that got fried even with a fix.
