ok.... :p

After a lots of pressure (mail/pm) : Time to release a version with...

... first CDDA support !!!!!

This version is still WIP and still need testing and tweaking, I didn't
had the time to fully test all games and some regressions/bugs are still
present/possible on some titles. So, as always, help us to track down all remaining bugs, and please give your feedback in the forum !

Change log :

- Rewrote ps2 sound routines :
> Switch to audsrv 0.85 for sound (BIG thanks to Gawd !)
> CDDA support !
> sound upsampling on IOP side
- Rewrote ps2 video routines.
- Small performance increase.
- PAL/NTSC Selector (60hz r0x0rs !)
- Zip support (limited to the bios, see usage)
- Fixed the "freezing menu" bug with some exotic pads (SF,NG).
- Fixed "blocking" state at startup when no CD is present.

Code source is also available, so if someone want to submit a fix or something... :-pray:

Awesome !!! :D

[edit]: something to test if you have a buzz occuring when the emu starts:
press L2+R2 or select to stop CDDA, then press eject/reset button to change the game, usually the game played after won't do the buzzing :crazy: (that's what happens for me, i know it's weird^^)

thank you boule,

another potential bug :

the first time, you'll have to turn on CDDA from the ingame menu.

and you may have to restart the emulator... but only the first time :P

Can't wait to try this out. I'll post my results when I get off work. Good job evilo.

EDIT: Hmmm. checked this out on an unmodded v9 from the (HDD) and the CDDA won't work I went ahead and tried the L2+R2 and switched CDDA to on and reseted the emulator but still don't hear any music. I didn't get any kind of buzzing noice. Is there any special order the music tracks need to be placed in, tried a couple different ways. I know you don't have an unmodded to test this out on so I'll keep looking into it. :chinscrat

Wow! It works now (almost)! ;)

NTSC videomode looks strange a little, its shifted to right side and picture height is too big.

I played my games a little and here is results:

Viewpoint, Iron Clad - CDDA ok, no problems
Pulstar - CDDA in game was ok, but when playing different soundtracks from options menu, there was a loud "BEEP" sound between them and sometimes there was just "BEEP", no soundtrack at all :)
Last Resort - seems to hang up the emulator completely, when CDDA is on. Even the title screen doesnt want to appear.
Crossed Swords 1 - plays, but no CDDA at all... :(
Crossed Swords 2 - starts with full sound and CDDA, but when starting the level emulator hangs up, black screen and lound "BEEP" are there.

Congratulations and thanks again for your great job.

I would like to know how to get music to worK ??
Because my ps2 is unmodded, only the mode 2 cd are compatible.
All mode 1 cd are considered as audio or not compatible by the console.
I have try to make a mixed mode cd with nero (mode 2/xa) but no music

did you activated it from the ingame menu ? and be sure also to restart the emu after that.

Concerning unmodded console, I unfortunately have no info on the emulator behaviour regarding CDDA tracks...

Yes, but will not show the audio tracks. Does anyone know if it is possible to re-create the image and include the neocd.zip files along with the CD data?.

Yes i have turn on CDDA and restart the emu.
But as i wrote my ps2 is unmodded so only mode 2 CD can be read.
I try mixed mode cd (mode 2/XA: data+audio tracks) but only pcm sounds works.

And other thing, with unmodded ps2 (v3), the 0.5 version was not bootable with keylauncher, swap magic or cogswap loader, the only way i find to boot it was with
ps2menu-K ( i don't try 0.6 for the other loader), and only one pad was avaliable in the games. Now i'm going to check for the new version.

For the moment, i'd already be happy to finish/fix the CDDA support before the end of the year... then if I can add something else in the mean time, we'll see , but
I'm still hoping/searching for someone to join the project !
