hello there:
i m having trouble to find sx28ac/dp so i was wondering if i could use sx28ac/ss instead or is there any other alternative chip.
if not than could u tell me where can i find the sx28ac/dp.i checked parallaxinc.com but they r out of stock.

sure, it will work. ss is only the design of the chip. (smaller)

the pinout is slightly different too so be careful with any homebrew diagrams meant for dip chips

The pins for programming the ssop chip would not be affected though right?

that diagram looks correct from memory but its worth checking the sx datasheet before you solder anything up.

Programming pins are osc1 and osc2. MCLR needs to be held high during programming

so does that mean programming this chip is different that programming the dip version.can u tell me the difference?

no, programming is identical, you need vss vdd osc 1 osc 2 thats all (apart from mclr needing to be held high)
