Hi
I just built a 2nd programmer, thinking fluffy2 was incompatible with my config (and due to headaches it gave me). I made JPB programmer (http://www.devrs.com/pic/devhard.php).
But here it is, and it doesn't work one more time ! :(
So my question is : how could I check my chips to know wether they're burnt or not ?

Hi m8 here are a few thing to check...

Is the programmer power supply at least 15v-200ma.

Make sure that the advanced serial port properties settings FIFO is enabled and that the receive buffers are high. Also check the the comm port IRQ is not shared with another device, some boards can do this other will fail.

The "Out of retry" is generated when the sx28 hasn't entered programming mode, or the 128khz sync signal is not received for some reason.

To check if the chips have been programmed you need to use the verify function (or read out and save the contents of the chip so you can compare the files). If the code protect is enabled this will fail unless the programming software

programs the chip
verifys the chip
sets code protect.

To use the DOS software for Fluffy pin 13 (RB7) needs to be connected to pin 5 (GND).

Haven't used the sxbufled programmer.....
