I don't think the infinity is involved with hdd. GT4 works great on hdd without any infinity fixes. You need to do a little work though.

DVD+R9 On the fly patching

As I'm sure you guys know there's rumours floating around that toxic will be releasing both a firmware update for their DMS4 mods and an image patcher to enable users to read DVD+R9 disks.

I'm aware we'd be able to make use of the image patcher, but it'd be nice not to have to mess around. So any chance you'd want to build a similar patch into a future bootmanager build at some point... Assuming the rumours are true.


This doesn't give anyone any real advantages. Generally DVD+ media is more expensive than their - counterparts. We would rather focus our attention on other worthy features.

Infinity FW 1.4 beta

For PAL mobo, need to connect H point. Without this GT4 backup will not boot. Tried this on V10. Also MI FW 1.4 beta working fine on ModBo 1.1 and NH9 !

By the way. i have 7 backups that didn't work so far. It runs in the Ps2 V12 with Infinity but the screen just keeps jumping down the screen. anybody know why? How can i fix it?

All it really is going to add is a few misc bug fixes and gt4. I have it and it is working fine I guess.

I am going to say, don't upgrade yet, wait for the final release... The 1.4 beta, is basically a pre release, untested version, that is in the testing phase...

That almost sounds like region video setting, some one else might know better though.

Lalala123: That has nothing to do with the chip. Your TV can't handle the 60hz. You should be able to change the output to 50hz in the infinity config menu (hold circle + square on bootup)

I don't see why you need the H point anyway. I got a GT4 backup to boot with infinity 1.4beta without the H point on a Pal V9 machine.

Ya i think it has something to do with the region video settings too. and i got this site on another thread that i posted in the Game backup section. http://www.consolecopyworld.com/ I tryed to understand what they are saying but still, i don't get it. do I use the patch to convert the ISO images first and than burn in to dvd or do i just burn the patch and use it like swap Magic?

Is this true for EVERY PAL Infinity installation? If so, then is going to be a pain to fit all those H wires in old installations :cry:

PAL V9 here without any H wire connected and it is working fine on a verbatim disc. Used nero 6.6.0.1 with a NEC 3520A.

Follow qortizone suggestions, it's definitely your tv that can't sync on 60hz NTSC signals.

o ya by the way, what is the best program to use to burn the ps2 backup image files? I use NERO and Alcohol 120%. MDF and MDS is Alcohol 120% file formate right? I tryed to burn it but Alcohol 120% says that it is an Unrecognised file format for recording. anybody know why? I burn MDF and MDS with Alcohol 120% before but this time it is just not working.

P.S I tried to hold circle + square on bootup but the configeration screen does not come up. I tried doing it with the Backup game and when i did, it ask me to insert a original PS2 game. when i try to do it with the original PS2 game nothing happends the game just start. I also tried to do it with out the game in the Ps2 but it didn't work eaither. I opened my Ps2 to see if it is a real Infinity chip and from what i can tell it looks the same as the picture on the infinity site. I just installed the Beta 1.4.

Wrong buttons :)
Hold circle + TRIANGLE on the pad and press reset. Keep pressed and the config screen should come up. Where it says ps2 screen fix, select NTSC and press start to save the settings. Problem solved.

Maybe you should read what people write before asking the same questions over and over ;)

You don't need any patches to the games and don't need to burn them again. Infinity has that built in, so just try what I suggested you and your PAL games will be forced to NTSC.

I asked agian because no matter what i do I just can't seems to get to Infinity's config page. what is going on. I tried it with and with out the game, original and backup, with and with out the memory card, with two and one controlers, even though i don't think it has anything to do with the controlers.

P.S can it possibly be that they had came out with a clone that looks just like the original Infinity chip. (I opened my V12 after reading about Infinity clones and the chip inside my SLim V12 Ps2 look the same as the picture from the Infinity site.)

I burned the upgrade CD with my NEC1300a on a traxdata CD-r but it won't boot! after a while it says unable to read disc also a Trust (yeah I know) CD-rw doesn't work, anybody got an idea?



Never mind I found something bout force upgrade mode and it worked for me!

ok I got the PAL games working. the only thing is that Most of the 7 PAL games 5 of them are RPG games (what can i say i am a RPG freak) and my screen is missing about half inch on the top. so i can't read instructions on the botton of the screen, and it is quit hard to play a RPG game with out knowing what to do. is there a fix, like Y fix buit in the infinity chip that i can set the screen a little higher?

Ahw man! Can someone tell me if I have a fubared copy or maybe its something to be fixed in the final FW when the situation is like so:

GT4 boots up, goes further to SCEE Presents then I got an whole menu asking me to make an mem card save etc etc then he asks if I want to see info about the feature loading up save games from GT3 of GT4:P i chose 'no' then the screen goes blank.
When I reset it's accessing the Mem card (little icon upper right) then goes dark.

I was so happy :/ can someone tell me if this maybe is fixed in final FW or my copy is just.. *()&@$

BTW my PS2 is one of first versions (got it straight from release date) PAL with Matrix Infinity 1.4

c0nd0r That sounds like one of two tings a bad backup(as in bad media or burned too fast) of GT4 or a weak laser,if you havent cleaned your laser since you got it now would be a good time,just remember to clean both ontop and underneathe the laser by removing the plastic cover...
