The music tracks scrolling really fast is pretty funny. I've experieneced some freezing randomly, however enabling mode 1 also seems to have corrected it.

Everything still works except the music. Sound effects and voices are all still there.

Enable both, mode 3 is definatly required, however using mode 1 and 3 I now have no problems (aside from the music).

I made a search on some forums, and noticed that MC3 works correctly only in HD Advance 2.1.

Not new, but simillar versions.

My guess:

HD Advance 2.1 is:

- a PAL version of HDA; or
- the GoW fixed version (by Zero-X) of HDA.

Please, can anyone test MC3 with the new patched version by Zero-X (GoW fix) and see if runs okay? I don't have the game yet, so I can't test it.

The GOW fix was done by crazyc. Zero-X patched toxic core 0.2 to hdloader. My version of hdloader has both of these patches applied, yet the music still does not play. However since I've enabled mode 1 and 3 I've experienced no freezing what so ever. Maybe I've just been lucky so far, or maybe it's works better with toxic core 0.2, I really can't tell yet.

My brother-in-law bought HDadvance 2.1 the other day (pal version), since he doesnt have a chip so i know it exists. Don't know if he has Mid.Club 3 yet though. I have 2.0 on my MC myself, since my ps2 got the dms3 in it. I like to play to the music so I just run the game from a disc instead.

hey just got my copy today with mode 1 and 3 enabled it works perfect for me and i turned the music volume down to zero since there isnt a jukebox option to just turn the songs off but if you turn it to zero it takes away the continous flashing of songs

I have HDA 2.1 and the music doesnt play.
I tried to enable modes 1 and 3, but i encountered various freezes (especially during a save).
Enabling only mode 3 solved this, but still no music... I can bear with it.

Tested "Midnight Club 3 PAL" with HDAdvance 2.1, HDL Patched/Unpatched, HDL ToxiOS core 0.2 all on "Mode 3" and "Mode 1 and 3" and there's still no music during races.
I've also experienced random freezing during menu selections e.g. "Continue Career" or "Arcade" but on the whole the game runs fine with "Mode 3" enabled.

Generally freezes on "Continue Career" or "Arcade Mode" I found a workaround for this though, as it happens quite regularly on the PAL version.

When you press start at the main menu and it loads up the MC, go continue without saving... Start a new game. Exit immediatly, then load up your saved game.

Works for me anyways

And of course the real "thrill racing/swearing your head up and down" until you've raced the bikes in MC3(or two). You all remember the joy/frustration of the first time you had a bike in Vice City; now it take to high speed.

Other than the real poppy stuff that I turned off, it was really good. I can't stand Yellowcard or NFG, but the bands like Atreyu, Rise Against, and Motion City were awesome.

This game definitely doesn't have the same pure fun factor to me as Burnout 3, but I LOVE how much better the steering wheel features are. 900 degrees of steering really adds a lot to the game, and while the force feedback isn't anywhere near as good as GT4, it's still better than Burnout. I was kind of shocked the first time I played Burnout with the wheel because it's such a blast to play, but I didn't really feel like it added much to the game at all.

I have the PAL version from Midnight Club 3 and played it with mode 3 and mode 1, no music. Turned of mode 1, still no music. One more thing though, no freezing what so ever even when I turn off mode 1.

A patch? Are you al sure that midnight club 3 is dual layer? Maybe the music isn't working becuase some people just didn't ripped it right, or maybe it's nuked (if you get what I mean). I played the game but I really do miss the music in it, so now I only play GT4...

It isn't dual-layered. People seem to think that is the root of every game not working with HDLoader. The simple fact is..this game just does not work properly. Midnight Club 2 had issues with the sound when on HDLoader, this is more of the same. People are probably trying to figure it out, till then just sit tight and play off the original disc.

Yes you'll hear the music in game not just the menus, load times aren't too bad (5 seconds or so) it doesn't reload the entire level if you restart a race for example.

Its not quite that bad but it is not that good either.

To me, it feels like a copy of Need For Speed Underground 2 with a little bit more freedom.
It is ok but ill agree that Burnout3 is better - gives you a much better "rush"

that was my same thoughts when playing the game. i just past it, a mung other games that have been killing my eyes. i think burout 3 is just a game of its own. i went to E3 and played burnout revenge! that game is sick! the menu has gotten a nice face lift and the world is more detailed. only thing i didnt really like is that now it has this nfsu feel to it. i dont really care to much for that. but the game is still great.

first time i played it on HDL it worked fine, but with no music of corse
second time i tried it on HDL wen i tried to enter a game (clicked continue career, or tried to start an arcade game) it locks up, and now it keeps doin that, so i cant play

If you experience freezing after intro, try using nero to burn at 2x, this solved the problem for me. Works fine on HDLoader option 3 enabled if remember correctly. Still no music patch right?

then you can play.
