game does NOT work with HDadvance, I've tried modes 123 and 3 and 2 and 2 and 3 , it's a long shot others will work I've also tried two copies one as a DVD and the other as a CD black screen.

I was gonna post this eventually. Yea it doesn't work as you said, I was going through the slus and I noticed it uses the cdvdstm.irx I was thinking it might be the same problem as viewtiful joe. I know the fromsoftware patcher is supposed to handle the viewtiful joe/ jak 3 type patch, but I can't get a hold of a copy to try testing it out.

i tried the viewtful joe, it doesnt find any patch strings so i guess its not the same... :(

Yeah I can confirm it does not work. I have tried all modes and have tried all of the PS2HD Patcher fixes and it still does not work.

I have tried the Soul Calibur 2 fix aswell but when I press X in CDloader from that fix all it says is CDROM0: is that correct or should it have the SLUS name after that?

Does this game work from normal CD-R using Swap Magic?? This game is soooo good (played the PC demo) that it would be worth playing it from CD while a fix is being made.

Yeah it works with the Swap Magic CD but you need to press square for special boot.

Special boot does not work on my machine for some reason thats why I am so desperate for the game to work with HD Loader.

i burned the game to a CD and it worked, the game just looks fantastic !

tried HDL with no modes or allmodes and doesn't work, im gonna check with the original hdl unpatched but i guess it won't work

anyways, i don't think the game has protection so i think it could be patched

i think it should work okay with cdloader, i have no experience of swap magic but the game just works flawlessly on my ps2 on CDR with messiah2

i beg codehackers to patch this game, it is SO MUCH FUN and the ps2 lens is going crazy using the CDR :(

Freezes after the first screen using swap magic, RSOD when using special boot work great using Swap Magic then CD Loader 5.2 default options.

This game is killin my laser though, we need a HD patch!!

Yeah I managed to play off the CD in the end but it makes loads of noise and is killing my laser. Its a very good game, lets wait to see if someone releases a patch.

Shocked that this is only on CD and not DVD, despite the nfo saying it was a DVD release..

Anyway, can confirm it doesn't work with HDL, bugger.. still finished it last night off of CD , very easy/short game.

i managed to get lego star wars to work on hdloader, but there are no enemies in free play mode! what must i do?

if you want the enemies in free mode youll need a backup or original copy of the game. dont need em though free mode is only to get all the extras and no enemies makes it easier to run through.

i don't have my original copy, my nephew brought it with him.... bummer... will any tweaks make it run 100% ? making it run thru the cd also makes my unit produce loud shrieking noices! so i was hoping the hd can run it smoothly.... thanks!

the 'shrieking' noises is normal operation for reading a CD/CDR in the ps2. keep mind CD's spin at 24x so its going to be a lot louder.

i managed to get lego star wars to work on my system. I fiddled around with the options and everything seem to work. I'm up to level 2.

i am using HDL v0.6 with the PAL version by Chronic
i have modes 1 and 3 enabled but im not sure if it will work without as i never tried them, i put them on to be on the safe side

i think it being PAL makes a difference as well, as i have noticed many NTSC games dont work on HDL or HDA but do if they are the PAL versions of the same games.
maybe an NTSC user could try to dl the PAL version of the game and then convert it to NTSC as i know there are tools avaiable to do this. just an idea which may not work that i thought was worth mentioning

I got the game for my kids (one of 4 one of 8 years), the easier the game is to get through the less chance they will have of getting bored. at least if they wont to go back and play free play I will just give them the original disc.

I've just upgraded to the 0.7c patch and Lego Star Wars works fine on my system with none of the modes enabled. No enemies in free mode like everyone else.

has anyone tried playing the last level (the one where you fight anakin (player 2) at the end) in freeplay, as this level amougst a few others freezes and i hav to reboot. it does it every time, just as u finish jumping over the lava at the start of the level. i think a cut scene would normally play in story mode at this point

anyone else experienced freezing?
im runnin a PAL system btw
